Important and simple point here, that human embryos do in fact make tails and these are then regressed during development ... this is apparent in any human embryo atlas - agree this title is misleading.

How this latest policy aligns with the UK as a Life Sciences superpower is hard imagine, as is the costs of visas etc for international post-doctoral researchers and families - another UK government own goal.
International students in the 2021/22 academic year contributed Ā£41.9 billion to the UK economy. Even when accounting for dependants and other costs, international students are a huge net contributor to the UK economy. Every 11 non-EU students generates Ā£1mĀ worth of net economic impact for the UK economy. I hope someone in The Home Office did the economics on this!
