This is not the fight for the UK to pick. Successive Govts have run down our steel (Aluminium is tiny) industry. Our exports to US are circa 160k tonnes compared to EU production of 130m tonnes and export of 3.6m tonnes. USās own production is circa 90m tonnes. We should stay out of this one and win somewhere else. What it reiterates though is the UKās gross stupidity in allowing the cessation of steel manufacturing in this country; itās fundamental to any manufacturing economyā¦ā¦. And by manufacturing I mean a blast furnace.

Youāre right in so far as we should try to improve Maths and English during the course of the apprentice (one reason I like the minimum of 1 year) but I do not think a decent and practice mechanic should fail their level 1 or 2 apprenticeship simply because they canāt pass a Maths / English test yet pass all their practical tests. Nevertheless I respect your opinion and input.

I think itās best left that synthetic fuels can achieve Euro 7 and are carbon neutral. It is a fact that they emit pollutants from the tail pipe and that is their technical downside in an urban environment. The main issue is the cost of the fuel and the amount of (sustainable) energy required to produce it.

I think there is some truth in that (I peaked as A Grade Exec during my time there so too far away from decision makers). But I suspect Honda didnāt understand the BAe / western culture and would have never believed a national asset was for sale. In my view, Honda were great partners to Rover

@g__j China peak Co2 in 2024 and will now reduce through sustainable energy measures. Air quality has been transformed by EVs over the years Iāve been going there.

UK used cars grow 5.5% in 2024, with 7,643,180 units ā¦@SMMTā© Used EVs boast record, rising 57.4% to 188,382 units. The numbers debunk the notion that there is no market for used EVs or that record new EV sales are inflated by pre-registrations

The Kia EV9 is a fantastic electric alternative if youāre looking for something bigger and more premium than a Tiguan. Kia EV9 Overview ā¢Size: Larger than a Tiguan, closer to a VW Atlas/Touareg ā¢Seating: 7 seats (perfect for families or extra space) ā¢Range: ~313 miles (Long Range RWD version) ā¢Charging: Ultra-fast 800V charging (10-80% in ~24 mins) ā¢Performance: 201 hp (RWD) or 379 hp (AWD GT-Line) ā¢Price: Starts around Ā£65,000+ in the UK How It Compares to a Tiguan: ā
More space (a true 7-seater) ā
Much longer range than most EV SUVs ā
Premium interior with high-tech features ā
Better towing capacity (up to 2,500kg) ā Bigger & pricier than a Tiguan ā Less nimble in city driving Is It Right for You? If you want a roomier, more premium EV SUV with long-range and rapid charging, the EV9 is a top choice. But if you want something closer in size and price to a Tiguan, the VW ID.4 or Skoda Enyaq might be better options.

Yes you combust it in an ice much the same as gasoline - the engine being 80% carry-over. You still produce NoX so adding Oxygen is sometime seen as required in addition to a NoX trap; great for commercial vehicles and towing / off road cars potentially but to be compared with synthetic petrol.
