It’s my birthday today and I got myself a car. My very first car.
Being in this community is living the dream. I know it might sound cheesy to some, but, thank you

Want to make an element draggable in
@webflow
?
Super easy to do that in
@Slater_App
I’ll share the behind the scenes + code that went into making this project.
All on today’s call:
My client just texted me about a
@webflow
site we developed in November. Job applications sent are way more than expected.
And she said she already did content changes. Alone. Without calling me. Developer’s dream.
So thank you webflow.
The new
@relume_io
Chrome extension update allows you to copy-paste icons from Figma to webflow as embed code. Directly!
With this, the icon color syncs to the text color, which you can change AND animate.
Super simple to use and very convenient.
Amazing work!
Sneak peek of a project we’ve been building in Webflow for one of our clients.
Minimal design 🤝 slick animations.
There are many more cool interaction to show. Very soon.
I see many companies searching for full time
@webflow
developers to hire.
If you’re a developer or a
@figma
designer, learning webflow should be on top of your list right now.
I found a great figma UI kit with hundreds of well-designed components.
I’ll be developing it for free for the
@webflow
community.
Off course, using client first by
@thatsfinsweet
.
And maybe also the
@relume_io
library so I get to try it.
2 New Webflow Updates:
- No index control for individual pages.
This is great for more SEO control. Now we have the "option" to publish some pages and not get them crawled by Google.
- New "pin the navigator" icon
Nice, I like it, and it makes more sense.
Webflow God Mode
the DOM element, if not given a tag, is just a div block.
But on steroids. You can make it to be anything you want.
A list of everything you can do with it ⤵️:
Webflow vs Contentful.
This page is new!
Very interesting to see the comparison and the direction.
These pages are often for SEO boost and targeted ads. Right?
Not sure if this is how I’m supposed to use
@webflow
. Feels like bending time.
@grimurgrimsson
@mcguirebrannon
:))
Super cool to see what’s possible with only Div Blocks and 2 CSS classes.
IMO Webflow is still in the sweet spot between abstract page builders and code.
Anything less, is too abstracted and detached from the underlying code.
Anything more, is too complex and just coding would be easier.
If your Webflow skills are intermediate or above, I don’t see any reason for why you would use Framer for actual work.
If you’re just starting, learn the tool with bigger potential.
The full power of HTML in

"Custom Element" aka the DOM element is here!
Btw, Webflow won't break anymore if you nest things improperly. But there is still that bug that you can't drag elements out of an input element.
That grid at the end of the video? What about it?
One less custom CSS line!
Pointer Event None is here.
There is also a clever icon in the navigator indicating that the element is not clickable.
Please ignore that grid thing at the end of the video.
Anyone reading the
@webflow
blog?
What’s next?
“Page building workflow to allow less-technical teammates to quickly build pages with components and basic elements while maintaining your brand.”
This is huge.
Here is how you can instantly break Webflow
Give a DOM element the "img" tag when it has a child element.
There are many combinations that we shouldn't use and there should be an error system for it.
“We don’t need to reinvent the wheel again in order to make a car.”
Said one of my students about why
@github
is using
@webflow
for their conference landing.
I didn’t make a $100K in 2021 but the trajectory of the past six months promises that and even over 150K for 2022.
I can’t emphasize how excited I am about what is coming.
2020, I didn’t even make 10K.
Learning webflow has been literally life changing.
Published my first enterprise level Webflow website for a client.
Can’t wait to share more soon. Now, I’m back to working on some stuff for this lovely community.
Native Webflow button vs the new DOM element with <button> tag.
The Webflow button is just a stylized link. An <a> Tag!
The <a> element links to other web pages or sections, while the <button> element triggers an action like an animation, popup, or form submit.
Why bother?
I’m thinking about making live learning videos. Where I start learning and implementing something. Basically learn and build in public.
For example a webflow e-commerce that I’ve been wanting to build.
What do you think?
Remember this toggle?
It got me a really good client.
An agency with a beautiful website already designed and ready to be developed on
@webflow
.
I’m so excited for this project!
Webflow’s native nav actually has the HTML nav tag on the “Nav Menu” div.
Which is the right way of doing it.
You shouldn’t wrap the entire nav in that tag, but only the links for navigation.
You should then put the whole thing in another div and change the tag to header.

@callmevlad
I’m touched beyond words. Thank you, Vlad.
The support on that video has been amazing!
@webflow
has been life changing for me and my family. Literally. I’m so excited for what is to come and stories I want to tell with webflow.
What most people don’t know is that I immigrated as a refugee to Germany in 2016.
I went through hell to become independent. Now, I’m helping others learn webflow, as I’m building my studio on the side.
Sounds like a good video idea?
It’s coming.
Thank you
@ransegall
@webflow
Hahah maybe I was not clear that this is in fact spline.
Anyways, happy the tweet went kinda viral and people love the new site.
So many outside of the webflow community still thinking this super difficult to do and requires tons of coding.
This is growth opportunity!

You can update the URL when the user interacts with the filters you’ve created.
E.g. when you play with the filter buttons on this page.
You could land a use with a specific filter selected.

You want a section (CTA, footer or nav) have a different background color on each page?
Create each color with a separate div set to absolute, then use the new conditional visability in the components settings to toggle the right color.
We’re using this all the time!
Here are some navs I’ve built in
@webflow
.
You see, I have a love for them.
And ever soo slightly inspired by
@footrdesign
, I would love to create a curated list, if you are interested.
Maybe menu design dot something?
Many designers use “H1 - H6” naming for creating style guides in Figma and use that in the design.
As a Webflow dev you should not take those literally.
Styled like a big text “H1”, is not the same as having an H1 Heading tag in Webflow. ✌️
Apple has a mega nav now with super minimal animations.
On mobile everything is two taps away.
Someone in the community is probably already building it.
