"कल मैं एक दियासलाई की तीली बनकर खुद को परिभाषित करूँगा तब मोमबत्ती, अगरबत्ती बन जलने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी मुझे भले ही मैं रहूँ- न रहूँ, तुम रहो- न रहो ढेरों मोमबत्तियाँ और अगरबत्तियाँ जरूर जलेंगी हमारे बच्चे रोशनी और खुशबू में पलेंगे।" किसे पता था कि किशोरावस्था में लिखी मेरी इसी कविता का शीर्षक- 'दियासलाई' मेरा जीवन दर्शन और मेरी आत्मकथा का शीर्षक भी बन जाएगा!

'दान या परोपकार करना अच्छी बात है। परन्तु अगर दाता के मन में अहंकार और बदले में प्रसिद्ध या प्रशंसा आदि पाने की इच्छा बनी रहती है, तो समाज में मानवीय गरिमा स्थापित नहीं हो सकती। जो किसी भी कारण से पीछे छूट गए हैं, उन्हें साथ लेकर चलना ही धर्म है।' आज मथुरा के गोवर्धन क्षेत्र में 400 बैड के सुपर स्पेशियलिटी नेत्र चिकित्सालय का उद्घाटन करके बड़ी प्रसन्नता हुई।
