Unsurprisingly, there is a world of difference between recreational athletes & their elite counterparts. We've used the Joyner model for performance to highlight some of the key phenotypic adaptations between these individuals collated from the literature (4/4).

@Pro_sthesis @timpodlogar Newer research has pivoted to non-oxidative effects, including cell signalling and adaptation. But more work is required in this space before a definitive “yes” can be made to answer whether supplementing is worthwhile.

@Skattebo_Oyvind Haven’t had a chance to read the paper yet - but wouldn’t a rise in lactate be consistent with increased PDK activity (decreased flux through PDH, thus increased lactate production to maintain glycolysis)?
