commuting was a huge part of the issue where we lived
basically zero public transit that would take you near any schools bc it was expected that you'd either be driven or be one of a very small group of people who'd take the school bus

i'm also under the impression that in most cases you typically don't move classes, the teachers come to you

so what would be a 40 minute car ride, could turn into 2 hours by bus
and even over an hour by car bc of all the traffic

but i did know a guy at our school who'd be starting his commute around that time bc his parents were unable to drive for wtvr reason
