Everyone's talking about how obviously fake it is because of xyz, but that's missing the point. Its already this good. People will ALREADY be fooled. It needs to be GONE
Am I the only person that accepts each new actor as the Doctor immediately from their first episode, because they all just fit it so well, and is excited to see them grow?
I instantly liked Christopher Eccleston.
I warmed to David Tennant after a few episodes.
Matt Smith was during the Angels 2-parter.
Capaldi took most of Series 8, whilst Jodie wasn't until Series 12.
Ncuti joins Eccleston. I can't wait for May.
Not seen a lot of people bring this up yet, but after the Doctor is tricked into being vulnerable and open about the Flux and TTC and he gets that anger out, he processes that it wasnt the real Donna and says "Good".
As in, I'm glad she didn't see me like that. Heartbreaking.
I actually did really like this scene. The Toymaker confronting the Doctor with what's happened to the Doctor - and the way they repress and compartmentalise it with excuses - "well that's alright then".
Ok, so MASSIVE DOCTOR WHO SPOILERS FOR WILD BLUE YONDER
but Catherine's acting here is legitimately the highlight of the episode. Like in case you forgot, she can ACT with the best of them. Holy fuck.
@Ranting_Trans
also do these people not understand how retaliation works... potentially months to years of harassment and bullying and all the girls got was water on the head. They then murdered them. Horrific.
One thing that always confused me about The Giggle is that Kate treats the salt superstition like it's real, and the Doctor never challenges or questions this.
Now, in the Devils Chord, Maestro also solidly believes in it, and The Doctor doesn't question it either.
david tennant giving his best performance in doctor who, period. its nuanced and layered, aided but not forced by the dialogue itself. it's emotional, its got waves. he's not even screaming or crying -- it's subtle, but strong.
it's the way they were supposed to be play-acting in this scene but as soon as the ring came out the doctor treated it dead serious like omggggg my guy
"Men are stupid and don't have emotional intelligence and are too egotistical to let things go" is actually really weird. yes, TOXIC masculinity is like that, but I don't appreciate how this scene quite directly paints with a wide brush.
Like on one hand, yes slay 13 is so smart but in the other hand, all this emphasis on the doctor being genderfluid only to be like “lol you present as a man now so you can’t understand this” is a tad odd but I appreciate the sentiment I guess?
Best series Flux getting its subtext turned into text and used by another writer to fuel his own emotional beats and to follow on his Doctor's story from 13s...... its peak. It's peak I hold my hands up I never doubted russell it's literally peak
Russell T Davies highly recommends a midnight viewing for Episode 7 The Legend of Ruby Sunday 🎥
This is to avoid spoilers as this episode will be SHOCKING! 👀
Going to be perfectly honest with everyone: the general public cannot name a single Doctor Who episode by title. It is ALWAYS "the statues one" or "matt smiths first one" or "the one with the goblins".
Every. Time.
"It's about two people learning to get on with each other" sorry russ but we did Not get that vibe, maybe it's millie and ncuti just clicking immediately but they were treated like instant besties in the Christmas episode already

“I think, now that the strike’s over, probably auditioning again, for parts, and seeing what’s out there,”
It seems that the BBC upload of the new Doctor Who trailer freezes the image on the logo to avoid cutting to the Disney+ ident. You can even hear the ‘click’ sound effect that Disney uses.

He's gonna be a in a bubble on our screen like he is here and he's gonna give us a speech telling us to put our phones away, focus on the people around us and to have a conversation 🫡
“The final scene in episode five. People will remember that scene. As the cameras started rolling, it was the make-or-break moment. You have to dig deep and pull out something that will blow everyone on this set away – and I bloody well did.”

I love how Russell T Davies gives every character such strong, rich personalities. I love Rocco Colasanto's wholesome optimism in such a bad situation. I also like Wilf's attempt to be positive with a "war time spirit" attitude. It feels very fitting for his age

I think this needs to be thrown out there again before Wild Blue Yonder.
Not only is "She mentioned Galifrey" an insane mention, but I feel the supposedly irrelevant "This is the Edge of creation--" is also actually relevant.
Did the master use one of the doctors regens from this cycle to turn into the doctor and if so did they use another to turn the doctor back if so does that mean we are like half way ish through this cycle already
