There is no legal safeguard that can prevent people from opting for assisted suicide in order to prevent their estate being wiped out by social care costs. Who wants to leave a partner homeless? Who wants to die without being able to afford a funeral? @thelizcarr @stephenctimms
What I find most alarming about the debate about assisted dying is that no one questions why a sick or disabled person might want to die Because most people assume our lives are inherently shit, rather than looking at systemic lack of care, discrimination etc And that's ableism
