Very cool! In a rather fun post lab meeting chat we had been wondering if the vagus nerve could be a “wormhole” that bypasses the immunesystem. cool stuff @DWeissLab and colleagues.
Bacteria in our BRAINS?? Surprisingly, we observe translocation of gut bacteria to the brain via the vagus nerve. This occurs in mice fed a high fat diet, or without dietary changes in mouse models of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and autism. 🧵

@RoyKishony This is really cool. Will you write a paper on these results, or will you let that be done automatically?

Congratulations, @cliao345 . Well deserved.
It is unbelievable to receive a perfect score of 10 for my K99/R00 application, given my initial submission was not even discussed. I felt very disappointed back then and thought I wouldn't have a chance. I hope my n=1 case could encourage other applicants in similar situations.
