@SenJohnKennedy If wages kept up with productivity over the last 40 yr, the minimum wage would be $27.00/hr How about sponsoring a bill to raise the minimum to that level? Not all at once but over 6 yr. In reality you’d faint if the minimum were raised fifty cents.

@PrezLives2022 The Trump tax cuts were a flim-flam for ordinary taxpayers. They were included to pull the wool over the eyes of individuals. And it worked since those cuts will expire. The cuts were permanent for corporations and exempted certain corporate foreign income.

Trump of course would want the trial moved to GA, AL or MS. But the same factors would apply. Many people don’t care about politics.

@MacLinx There is also the Art 2 requirement that the president “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed”. The budget is the law and according to SCOTUS, in a national emergency the president can even use the military to enforce the law. We are there.

@OhRick4 The filibuster is a useful tool the Dems can use to blame Repubs for the failure of legislation to pass or be a reason not to bring up the legislation in the first place. If a bill opposes the interests of wealthy donors for example it will likely fall prey to the filibuster.

@Gdad1 The SS fund is invested in US Treasuries, the safest investment in the world. It collects interest which is deposited in the fund. Repubs want to welch the debt owed to the SS fund by reneging on it. One of our worst presidents, GWB, claimed the bonds were just a bunch of paper.
