You'll never realize how much free time you had until you have kids. The 'on the whim' "Honey, want to go to the movies?" Those days are over for at least 10 years..20 with multiple kids Everything must be planned Less events out, less money spent on entertainment

"I need time for my friends" Honestly, you'll lose friends after kids. Esp the non kid friends You'll probably need to pick a handful you'll stick with and dump the rest

If someone you love smugly tells you, "I'll never sell my 3% mortgage house, I'll just hand to a property manager & collect rent checks" slap them in the face Bc they don't know what they're talking about Being a landlord isn't passive & it's not cheap One of our properties

Talking to different mortgage brokers/realtors, there's an overwhelming belief from them: - Mortgage rates will drop to 4-5% by Dec 2024 - A housing buying frenzy will start all over again - RE prices will skyrocket higher once more My thoughts: 1. Seems illegal to tell

Don't be surprised when the SMB/Retwit/entrepreneur guru you follow announces their divorce too Your wife & kids don't care about your "million dollar portfolio" you're building If you're not showing up for your kids games that the wife now wants to date the coach, that's on

People without kids don't understand the feelings you get when you have kids. That's why they only think about "Kids take away your freedom" When, really, they bring you more joy beyond the things you think fulfill you. For example, someone without kids doesn't know the

Seems weird this has to be said --- Life is supposed to be about work. Working not just your "job", but also working on family, building a home, doing good to others. This new "idea" life is should be about leisure, fun, vibes, is a lie. You think God put you on this earth

All of this sounds negative, it's real truths Positives outweigh the negatives I've made MORE money since kids. Things get easier as they can do things on their own They become the best companions. Nothing beats hearing their laughs at new experiences or funny things

Kids will do 1 of 2 things 1. Get you to step up, grow, mature & able to take on even harder challenges 2. Or, you cave, run from responsibility bc "you don't feel like your old,fun self" & give up There's not much of a middle There's a reason most successful people have kids

Things that don't make sense in America: 1. Why do millennials think 'waiting' to have kids is easier than just popping them out & figuring it out? It's more difficult to have kids later than earlier. Your 'financial situation' doesn't affect that. 2. Why do our leading prez

If you're a woman, married w a career but doing EVERYTHING, tell your spouse to step up. Be direct Men are more prone to dumping it all on the wife If she's also working, you need to man up.Make sacrifices. Yes,tell your buddies you can't go out drinking every weekend anymore

Hard part is finding care/help. Family or friends? The first 3 years, you'll want to cash in all your favors right away No help (like us) - Be ready to run on a single income else daycares expensive We found it best to double down on just my career & my wife stay home (worked)
