I realized recently that "Today is a Diamond" and "24 Hours Cinderella" both end with Kiryu and Majima doing the same pose and having the same smile that really means "I can't take this anymore" 😆

I agree that the writing of Yumi is too poor to make the moment meaningful; but imo, Yumi represents what Kiryu's life would have been if he wasn't a yakuza. I do see it as Kiryu grieving a peaceful normal life, married with children he can see grow, rather than her specifically

Ok I need to confess, one time I dreamt of Majima in a Y0 substory about fanfics, and the guy he was talking to said "archive your own business!" which I'm still amazed by. He went to AO3, found only kzmj fics in it, one of them was called "Goro Majima is getting f*****. AGAIN."
