My class have absolutely loved journaling about Alma so far this week. I love doing a scary story unit with the Y6s- they’ve made excellent inferences and predictions. The writing that follows is always brilliant too. Thanks
@redgierob
@LiteracyShed
for your inspiration!
So proud of how our
@WillyRhodes001
curriculum books are shaping up. Looking so much more consistent: lessons begin with retrieval tasks and knowledge strips help children to recall the most important information. Great effort from our staff team and children 💚👏🏻

Had a lovely day, people were so friendly 🥰 looking forward to tomorrow!
Seen lots of these on here, so thought I would give it a go. The Y6s loved them and I really feel it helped them have more ownership over what they needed to include in their writing.

Home safely. I am humbled and honoured to have been part of such an amazing project that can bring about change for our children. So lucky to observe and work alongside such excellent practitioners who have been so kind and hospitable; I’ve learnt so much.

We are having a push on our learning environment around school. Look at this wonderful display which shows a strand of maths and the progression from EYFS to Y6! Great work
@Miss_Burgess23
🤩👏🏻😍
I love walking into classrooms and seeing working walls that show a journey. This one caught my eye as it so carefully follows the small steps from the
@NCETM
curriculum prioritisation document. Activating and embedding key prior knowledge before building a new concept.
Was inspired by
@Miss__Wheatley
’s excellent resource (which I will be using tomorrow in the countdown to SATs) and decided to make my own for the rest of the week. Here is the link if anyone else will find it useful.

The single best thing I have done in my career is get involved with my maths hub. It has opened so many doors for me and I love working as a Mastery Specialist. If you aren’t already, get involved!
Reaching more than 11,000 schools. Teaching for mastery approach in project schools praised by Ofsted. The Maths Hubs Programme after five years. Find out more in this new video
I have spent this week telling the children their SATs results. There have been highlights and moments when I’ve cried with them. But one thing is for sure, I am super proud of all of our Y6 children for working hard and approaching the tests with determination and resilience 💛
Great example of mastery in action and how modelling and journaling (through ping pong teaching: I do, we do, you do) leads to successful independent work.
⭐️High expectations of all pupils!
⭐️Lessons planned using the

Finally home, and wine! It’s been a long old week but we have new front doors and a beautiful library in progress! I have wallpaper paste in my hair and so does

An exciting start to the year with an enthusiastic team. I can’t wait to see the routes people go down for their classroom based research.
Now to get excited about welcoming back our lovely children hoping I haven’t forgotten how to be a Y6 teacher 😬
Really enjoyed our

Off to the seaside tomorrow with 37 Y6 children. So excited, looking forward to making memories. For some, this will be the first time to the beach. ☀️🌊🏖
Wow! Assessing the writing unit which we finished on Friday: Alma. This boy has come on in leaps and bounds this year in his writing. What seemed to be very technical, disjointed writing now has flair and purpose. So proud. ☺️Thank you
@LiteracyShed
for the brilliant stimulus!
Filling in the documentation for my visit to Shanghai. So, so excited and priviliged to be involved in the England/China exchange this year. Working with

And ended in me posting my first video newsletter.
I left with a smile 🥰 thank you

When I asked what my mum wanted for Mother’s Day, she always told me, “Just buy me a bunch of daffodils..”
Today she rocked up to school with 186 little bunches for each child to take home for a special lady to celebrate Mother’s Day. 🌼❤️The cutest.
@FlavellPam1649
Led my first twilight meeting as a Mastery Specialist today. Was incredibly nervous but the group were reflective and enthusiastic. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you to the
@MinsterMathsHub
for giving me the opportunity to develop and start a new journey.

Asked Alexa to play me a 90s play list, the only time it’s normal to be rapping all the words to Tupac one minute and wailing along to Boyzone the next 😂 Happy Saturday!
Looking forward to welcoming our

colleagues in the morning for our Open Classroom event. Thank you to all of the fabulous

Decided to read something non-educational to help switch off in the holidays. I have not been disappointed and have laughed out loud. I would highly recommend 👍🏻
I am loving a whole week of talking maths, welcoming people into my classroom and leading the Sustaining Mastery Workgroups. Lovely to see lots of new faces as well as some familiar ones and to hear about so many schools’ mastery journeys.

Amazing team, even more amazing children ⭐️
Sent out 5 letters to parents today at the end of an attendance monitoring period, all with improvements. Added in a little thank you card as improvements are a team effort. I hope they spread a few smiles 💚

What a quote to live by! Re-watching the In-Action Masterclass videos and I don’t think there could be a quote to sum up what I believe in better. Aim high, be proud! Love this presentation
