I get it’s the rules. I get it’s a uniform policy. My Y9 boy in shirt, tie and blazer today undid his top button - session after doing the bleep test. Was told he had to refasten it. I just don’t see the point in that!

Children can’t speak or read before starting school? I’ve an idea let’s have some hubs where parents can go with young children and get help. @DamianHinds we could call them ‘SureStart’ nice ring to it don’t you think @AngelaRayner ?

Teachers complaining that their class will be tired tomorrow... it’s once every 4 years. I remember watching Italia 90 with my dad aged 8. I can’t remember what we did in Maths on July 4th 1990. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Never should the reason to get kids back to school be ‘so they’re safe’ or ‘to get a hot meal’ if that is the only reason then society is broken and it needs fixing far more deeper than going to school!

Last weekend I told my 12-year-old to get up and go out - organise something like bowling, arcade club or the cinema with his mates. So, six of them are going bowling this afternoon, and he has told them all I am paying... because he thought that's what I meant! 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼

Always worth sharing this image with parents. (And those schools who insist on a plain, dark coloured coat) It makes me think about the coats we get for our boys. The child in both photos is in the same position with a different colour coat on. 😲 Pic credit: Christian Thomas

If want to send children in Y6 back for transition then perhaps send them to secondary schools with their teachers so they can get used to it whilst in an almost empty school? Easier for social distancing.
