I grew up in the 70’s. I wore hand me down clothes & our house was so cold you see your own breath. We ate whatever was cheap, which made for some unusual combinations (corned beef & cabbage anyone?) & you know what? It was shit. And it did me harm. And it was 50 years ago.

Just writing in a cafe, feeling sad about something (no biggy, just generalised sadness) when a waitress came over & said ‘I LOVE your style. The glasses, the hair, the dress, the look, you’re a very stylish lady!’ It was so lovely & unexpected I burst into tears 😳 made my day!
