God, this made me cry, I’m so tired of trying to negotiate fan spaces that seem more about toeing the line and saying/doing/following/not following the right things/people than enjoying the craziness together.
These days I almost feel hunted as a fan creator, or like a lot of us see each other as threats. It's a survival mechanism. Some fans will literally try to ruin your life if you stray too far from their personalized vision of the source material. You learn to anticipate backlash.

I don't know why, but crappy and often entitled fanfic comments are on the rise. I encourage AO3 authors to set your comments to signed-in users only so that if somebody wants to be an ass they can do it under their full user name and you can block.

I’ve talked myself blue in the face trying to explain to people that the way to get more content you like is to just be a nice person. You don’t have to share OTPs, but I’ve written 50K fics for other pairings in my fandom because someone was my friend and that was their OTP
If you really see the abundance of m/m content in your fandom as a "systemic problem" then maybe you should try out the solution posed by so many of my peers: Be more welcoming towards m/m content/shippers in your spaces, and they'll be more willing to venture into f/f writing.

I'm howling, this person made their own story incredibly toxic and are now mad people LIKE it. The best part was it was only recently that it was revealed the ship is incest, which the artist thought would kill it off. You'd think it was their first day on the internet.
Still, I personally find the AdamXRozy ship disgusting of course. Other than the fact they're siblings, he's a freaking serial killer. I've despised any toxic romance since I was a kid anyway.

Can you read? A specialist, not simply a PCP. Best case scenario in the dirt poor state I’m in is you’re seeing a specialist in 6-9 months. Most of the patients I see don’t have or can’t afford a PCP and usually there’s new patient wait lists. Deal with reality not ideals.
