Please accept my apology if you were planning to attend any of the events or streams that I was supposed to do this week. My father passed away last night after a long, slow decline due to dementia, I am in shock, and will reschedule. My tribute to him:
I started working at 18 years ago today. After a lot of digging, I found an ancient backup of my IMAP mailbox and within it the WELCOME TO AMAZON message that I received the week before I started!
13 years ago today I started out by saying "Welcome to the Amazon Web Services Blog." It has been an amazing ride so far and the best is still to come.

Yesterday was particularly hard for a lot of folks, me included. I wrote a quick note in a private chat and got some positive feedback, so I am sharing it here in the hope that it will be of value to you in these crazy times.
