@StandForTruthxx @8trius @pokebrain1 @NIH Postdocs are typically direct costs. This cut is to indirect costs. That doesn’t mean she won’t be affected, though: CHOP may not be able to sustain the research without funding for facilities/power/hvac/administration/etc.

@paulg @leanmediaorg Are those beams original? Perhaps just the rear crossbeam from this vantage? If not - how old would you wager they are?

@sh_reya I found @MajeedKazemi’s take on this in his recent improving steering paper pretty nice! It’s just a “side quest” that allows exploring without “polluting”.

@paul_cal @sh_reya Probably autoscrolling serves more of a "oh is the LLM done?" indicator role (when it stops!) -- definitely not helpful for reading.

@IanArawjo I submitted one last year, did not go particularly well. Reviewers' expectations were clearly not in line with the format: based on their feedback, they expected a full-paper contribution but in 5000 words. Perhaps reviewing standards will be better communicated this year?

@UpolEhsan Yes! Also: "which ACs in that subcommittee would you be excited to have as your primary reviewers?" ...beat... "What?" (Science is a social construct.)

@ChengleiSi @tatsu_hashimoto @Diyi_Yang Super interesting! But maybe you buried the lede: who came up with this particular research idea? (Is it turtles even one level deeper now?) (I kid, I kid!)

@timhwang Oh man I loved these and my 6yo does too. The new versions are more gimmicky with flip-pages and other “appeals to the under-5 set” features. But the cutaways aren’t as nice and the prose isn’t as deep as I remember. Or maybe I just have higher standards in my old age…?
