It's pretty jarring that Lidl stocks Lupilu products made in Israel considering Israeli bombs have now killed over 5,500 children, including babies in incubators who died from lack of electricity. Join us to demand @lidl_ireland remove the Israeli stock!

Thanks @Independent_ie for another round of abuse about our new baby.
@Independent_ie I agreed to do interview with journalist Ali Bracken about why PBP boycotted Biden's speech. After interview about Biden was finished, she asked me about how parenting is going. I assumed (naively) we were just chatting as people do. I didn't agree to be interviewed about this.

While FG and FF try to rewrite history, do not forget who pushed the hardest in the Dail and worked to use their platforms to build the movement in the streets for #repealthe8th and legislation for choice

Best day ever ❤️.Thanks so much to my amazing partner who supported me throughout this journey.

After almost 4 years, 2 IVF cycles, and way too many scans, pills, and injections to count, we are here💗.
Here's a picture of @jdubspear and my current babies to let you know that we are expecting a non-furry baby next February.

You can't be asking the plebs to give up cars if you aren't even willing to make the obscenely rich give up their air yachts.
Commentators have criticised proposed legislation to ban most private jets from Irish airspace. “If People Before Profit really care about the environment, do something useful."

Pictures just can't convey how lovely our back garden is after adding a pond and 4 years of no mowing (I trim some of the grass by hand and tend lightly). I'll zoom in to show you some of the wildflowers that bloomed during #NoMowMay ⤵️

I really hate how the media cover budget day. "Budget giveaway!" they exclaim, like we all won a lottery. I dont want energy credits. I want price controls & free retrofitting. I want investment in free public childcare so I dont have to take unpaid maternity leave #Budget2024.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered & supported our campaign. We've won a platform to build our campaigns on housing, public services, & climate action. With @kaykeane14 @Taiwo_Oifigiuil & hopefully @cllrjohansson we'll have a formidable team of socialist councillors on SDCC.

Who cares what Alison O'Connor thinks about nationalisation of energy? I'm so tired of these journalists rolling their eyes acting like we cant do things when very clearly we can & must. These are the same ppl that excuse inadequate climate targets b/c "politics". #TonightVMTV.

Fixed that for you!. Excited to join @pb4p as @RISEsocialists network. Together we can build an ecosocialist party to kick out FF & FG, build workers power, tackle climate change & biodiversity loss with a socialist #GreenNewDeal & end this rotten capitalist system. #RISEwithPBP

The working class of Tallaght South have elected an incredibly dedicated socialist campaigner. ✊🚩.
"The workers united will never be defeated" rings out as Kay Keane gets a brilliant result for People Before Profit in Tallaght South!. Kay is a proven local campaigner, and will be a serious fighter for working people on SDCC. #peoplebeforeprofit

Are you actually claiming that a massive electricity & water guzzling data centre heating a few buildings is decarbonization? . These bohemoths are responsible for ~15% of our electricity consumption & growing. They make reducing emissions harder, not easier!.
One of Ireland's first district heating programmes has started operating. The Tallaght District Heating Scheme takes waste heat from an Amazon data centre and uses it to heat South Dublin County Council offices and a local library | Read more:

Well, whoop dee doo for you. My experience of life is that most members of my family are so overburdened by their own struggle to pay bills, access healthcare, etc that they almost never have the capacity to help/care for other family members.
Leo Varadkar on the Six O' Clock Show. He talks about the importance of care within the family and the state should strive to support that. Leo saying the quiet part outloud. He goes on to say he personally doesn't believe it's the State's responsibility but the families'

From 1 to 4! 🥳✊🚩. The People Before Profit team of councillors on SDCC and the working class communities we represent will benefit hugely from the experience and leadership of this brilliant socialist councillor!.
At about 3am last night I was re-elected to the council when I won the last seat against runner-up Paul Gogarty. I'm also beyond delighted that 3 new PBP councillors will join me, Darragh Adelaide(Clondalkin), Kay Keane(Tallaght South) and Jess Spear (Tallaght Central)

Good to see support for my first motion to council 🇵🇸✊🏻.
South Dublin County Council votes to become an “apartheid free-zone” and to boycott all Israeli goods. Labour Party’s Joanna Tuffy, Independent Ireland’s Linda de Courcy and Irish Freedom Party’s Glen Moore oppose a boycott against Israeli goods. Fine Gael abstain.

This man 👇helps no one. He has no solutions to the crises we face other than to punch down at the most vulnerable in society. Who does he go after here? Not the gov. No, he goes after the *only* TD holding Leo Varadkar to account for his corruption.
Everyone is saying im a landlord witch im not so i went to the man who spreads the lies paul murphy and called him out to his face and he went white no point in reporting him as the state gives him special privilege in the dail to say whatever he wants #irelandisfull

👉Expel the Israeli ambassados.👉Sanction Israel.👉Boycott the Whitehouse St Patrick's Day celebrations.
The scenes from Rafah are horrifying. Israel is bombarding a tent city into which they pushed 1 million+ Palestinians. Varadkar, Martin: do something concrete. Challenge the US, the EU & the UK publicly. Charge them with genocide. Use all your pressure to halt Israel's rampage.

I left my climate science career to help build campaigns because it was clear to me that more data wasn't enough, we need people-powered movements. I'm proud to stand for @pb4p in Tallaght Central. Councils have a big role to play in speeding up climate action in a fair way.

Why are you muddying the water? The dogs on the street know that PBP are calling out the bigots and racists. Why else were they protesting outside my house!?. Disgraceful to be suggesting that we're saying this nonsense 👇 You'd wanna have look at your own party.
@saoi4climate I've no interest in scoring points. If political people are attempting to say the actions of racist bigots are caused by anyone but the bigots themselves, I'll challenge that. I'm happy to call out anyone who I feel is giving cover to these "protestors".

Y'all this is a good thing. Less cars polluting the air, more space to walk, safer streets for cyclists. I want councils to go further! Pedestrianise all city centres, tax SUVs out of existence, free public transport, ebike & escooter rentals all over.
With a ban on private cars and commercial vehicles travelling through Dublin city centre to be in place by August, Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan says there will soon be a tipping point where cycling will become the main form of transport.

Yet another example of why just "more women" at the table does not equal better policies. When we say "more women" we need to qualify that we want women who will actually support women workers and poor women. #IWD2021.

We really gotta stop with this "we" talk. "We" don't control the economy, the capitalists do. They decided to invest nearly 2 trillion in fossil fuels after the Paris talks, to wrap everything in plastic, to put profits above people & planet. "We" didn't do this harm, they did.
More than half of all CO2 emissions in all of human history have been released since the first IPCC assessment report in 1990. We've done more harm to the climate system knowingly than we ever did before scientists' warnings.

Citizens assemblies show that ordinary ppl, when presented w/ the science, are more than willing to recommend radical policies, policies that NGOs have been demanding for decades. They expose the lie, used by govs everywhere, that ppl won't support the necessary changes. 1/2.
We are met with bad news about the ecological crisis everyday. One glimmer of hope for me has been the worlds citizens assemblies around ecological issues. Ireland just concluded their assembly on biodiversity, and like other assemblies, the results were inspiring. A 🧵

This is embarrassing. It's 2023, CO2 is 418 ppm, emissions are still rising, and new oil fields are opening. But yes, tell us more about how we shouldn't tackle our highest emitting sector or how we should just ignore the impact it has on our water quality and ecosystems.
This has got to be one of the most absurd proposals I’ve ever seen. Cull 200k cows to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. What’s guarantee suppliers from elsewhere, who fill demand, would be better? . This is a country with 50km (!) of electrified rail.

I want to know how the Greens can stand over this. How the hell are we supposed to *rapidly* transition to renewables when these monsters are drastically increasing our energy needs?. We need a ban on new data centres now.
New stats from @CSOIreland on data centre electricity consumption. Data centres in Ireland now consume as much metered electricity as all urban dwellings combined. Electricity consumption by data centres increased by 31% in '22. This is unsustainable.
