@VinceP1974Chi Then I’m glad we agree. Where I think that some people overstep is when they review bomb a game and they aren’t verified players. That I think is highly unethical if you aren’t a paying customer. It’s like leaving a bad review for a restaurant just because you heard it was bad.

@VinceP1974Chi This is presumptuous without actually playing the game. If you’re boycotting a game or any product because of xyz, accept that you are not a customer. The difference in ratings from verified customers and grifters review bombing games they’ve never engaged with is night and day.

@Rhoffman94 @makro_art @EddCoates Let me be clear. I think this debate is ridiculous. There are many reasons why you shouldn’t support businesses but this is my post. I stand by my pov that consultants have very little power in most cases. It is ultimately the studio that holds the responsibility for the game.

@Rhoffman94 @makro_art @EddCoates They do need to pay to be paying customers to have legitimate complaints about the game, the company and / or the workers. If you “watched a let’s play” - and that’s all you’re basing your opinion off, then nobody needs to listen to you. The anger is baseless and pointless.

They are regurgitating opinions of the last people they spoke to on the internet. That’s not being informed. That’s finding any excuse to latch onto a bandwagon.

Why should the studio care if you aren’t buying? Doesn’t matter if people aren’t happy, if they aren’t your audience 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Rhoffman94 @EddCoates @makro_art I think that compiling a list of games to boycott based on misinformation of how consultants work + encouraging users to send hate and threatening messages is harassment and bullying. If people know how games were made in the first place, this wouldn’t readily have happened.

@Rhoffman94 @makro_art @EddCoates Reality is reality. If these games turn a profit that satisfies the studio and shareholders, they’ll make more with or without consultants. The only power that consumers have is purchasing power. I suggest players make themselves heard here instead of harassing nobodies on X
