Honored to announce that the 3-volume "History of the Vietnam War" by Cambridge, the most prestigious academic press in the world, has published. My chapter in Vol. 3 is on the end of the war. The series has taken years to complete. Thanks to Cambridge and the editors.

As the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War approaches, for those interested in a discussion of how Kissinger requested Soviet help to convince Hanoi to allow the safe evacuation of US and SVN nationals, please see what I just published

@CNMNguyen So, this is for the upcoming Netflix doc. Also, some translate it as Ranger but it’s probably better as Commando. I was just at the museum in late October. I was trying to help the SRV track down the burial location of those killed at the U.S. embassy.

@andrewmichta Agree totally. Salami tactics are only one. And you completely right about China’s ideological view of the world

@joestieb All postwar communist documents clearly show that Hanoi restarted the war in 1959 via Resolution 15. We can argue the reasons why, but the U.S. had two choices: intervene to save its ally from Communism, or let it collapse and deal with the consequences.

@joestieb Territory, but in the long historical view (not short term) are the Iraqi people better off w/o Hussein? Not giving us credit but some blunders turn out for the good, others don’t. Again dude, you have a brilliant idea that needs deeper analysis
