@jrpenades @dbikard But indeed, few anti-phage system papers demonstrate this directly. Guilty myself; we tested whether SMA ( blocks lysogenisation of incoming phages (it doesn't), but it didn't make it into the paper.

🚨🫴Final PhD work is out 🧬 Cam1, a ligand-activated transmembrane pore, is associated with type III CRISPR systems and depolarises the host membrane during infection. Proud of @ChristianF_Baca 🫡and co-authors for doing the heavy lifting for a beautiful (I’m biased) story 🫴🚨
