Human population variation mesmerises me! Right now, I am on the lookout for postdoc opportunities in #population #genetics

Our latest preprint is now available online! We report a unique ancestral component in the Dravidian speaking Koraga tribe. Our findings provide a chronological fit for the origin of Dravidian languages. #dravidian

The AHG component needs to be explored in depth. Is it ancestral to all present day Indian tribes? It is not. Is it ancestral to the IVC individuals? Yes. Is IVC ancestral to all present day Indians? It can't be. Because what follows is occupation based endogamy and admixture.

Aside from a few specific populations, the gene pool of the Indian subcontinent has remained relatively unchanged since the UP. Holocene admixture wasn't as widespread as suggested. The UP components present in modern endogamous groups could serve as valuable aDNA proxies.
As requested by some; a more detailed version with relevant migration routes and contact events. I also added time and yDNA data. – Note: This map shows Paleolithic migrations and clusters (not modern or Mesolithic/Neolithic ones). – I apologize if that was not clear before.
