Hamas is not a nationalist movement. It's a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood interested in global Islamic revolution. The various Islamic factions are rivals but unite around hating Israel. This is why Israel destruction is their goal. They don't want a country. They are not PA.

The ratio of combatant to civilian is 1 : 1.1 which is gold standard according to military experts. Usually in urban warfare it's 1 : 9. IDF (if assessed objectively) is doing an incredible job. If they wanted to flatten the place they could do in one day with zero casualties
