I think writers forget that other writers aren't our target audience and that the average readers don't give a shit about things we fret over. I tell people I'm self-publishing, they ask me about the story, not writing rules, prologues, adverbs, or what awards I've won.
We go around in small circles trying to please stuck up ppl who arenโt our target audience while books like 50 shades are selling millions bc letโs face it, readers enjoy them and weโre here counting adverbs, not listening to what readers want, not doing enough marketing, not
