I called my family to take Dad to the ER on Wednesday after a concerning phone call, and he has been in the hospital since. If he doesn't improve by tomorrow morning, I have to fly home and say goodbye.

We got our miracle. Dad survived the surgery, has a functioning liver, and is relatively stable.
The next 24-48 hours will be scary and things can go south at any moment but clearly my dad is fighting for us and I believe I’ll get to hug him again soon.
