Well what a festival we got to witness. The highlight for me is the jockey cam footage showing Bob Olinger absolutely tanking all over them turning in, a truly special sight. I hope everyone enjoyed it and had plenty of winners. Roll on the 2022 festival 🐎

Don’t normally do many EW bets but the 66/1 (50/1 generally) Mister Malarky for the Grand National is very big. Flat track, looking like decent ground, loves to be up with the pace, cracking trial last time and crucially has more improvement in him over the trip.

Imagine having the greatest sporting event there is, then making it worse by adding a 5th day and diluting the already diluted quality of racing, whilst encouraging more louts and coke heads to attend by having it on a Saturday, in the process scaring away true fans

Galopin Des Champs much more controlled with his jumping there. It appears his fall could have been a bit of a blessing in disguise and taught him to be less extravagant at his early fences. Again he’s only getting going at the line, so much more to come over 3m+ 🥰

This is what I wrote about Allegorie De Vassy pre-season. She’s been given an RPR of 156 for her chase debut. Last years 1,2,3 in the Mares Chase were given 146,144,147. With improvement expected,she’s going to set a very high standard despite being a novice,and is very exciting.

Just a reminder that if you have a strong handicap fancy for Cheltenham this early, just fucking get stuck in yourself and win some money. That’s what the game is about, not getting likes by tipping it up early on a podcast. Wait for the entries and stronger markets for that.

The amount of people who seem to think Constitution Hill could just replicate his elite class and slickness over hurdles at 2 miles, over fences and over 3 miles+, is staggering. They’re two completely different games and he’d always be over a stone better over hurdles.

Galopin Des Champs would improve on his performances this season by stepping up to 3 miles. He’d probably only stay at the same level by dropping a furlong and a half. Just how I see it and surprised by comments today 🤷🏻♂️

I’ve profiled every runner for the Grand National. Like many I’d love to see Eclair Surf get in the race.

I’m no expert on US juveniles but this filly hits the front 3f out and has her ears pricked the whole way to the line, in the fastest time in this race in 10 years. Surely targets the BC Juvenile Fillies (a race in which her mother Beholder won). I’ve had to have a go at 6/1.

Gericault Roque scraped in 😃 5lb out the handicap but I’m certain he’s well handicapped. Very competitive race but I can see him swinging on the bridle turning in 🤞🏻

Some performance from Constitution Hill today (though fully expected). His jumping was absolutely immaculate over the first 7, the 3rd hurdle he was lightning, then long at the last. I really hope they don’t go chasing, he’s a deadly hurdler now, and wouldn’t improve over fences.

Ref BALLYBURN, and people thinking he’s too keen, and wants to drop to 2m, he’s not and he’s a stayer. There was a horse called SEVEN TOWERS when I was a kid. He carried his head that low too, but won 3 races in a row over 4 miles+ you don’t do that if you’re too keen!

Without sounding like a broken record 🙃 Galopin relaxes fine and jumped much more economically held in behind the leaders. Kicking him on and throwing him at fences last season wasn’t needed, great to see it hasn’t affected him 🥰

Looking forward to Aintree, great card today 😎 Gaillard in the National for me, should love brushing through the top of these fences, and he showed more stamina/battling qualities than we ever knew he had at Cheltenham. The 16/1 for him to go off favourite is also way too big 👀

♥️ GALOPIN DES CHAMPS ♥️ Though I really did expect him to jump like that he still had to prove it. Jumped like an experienced Gold Cup horse. Fiddled 2 fences he was on the wrong stride nicely which is great to see and stood off with ease when long 🥰
