"When We Get Back Home" was aim at returning GIs from Japan but it's really funny that any modern anime fan would instantly get these comics 60 years later.
Honestly the most surprising thing about these Nintendo leaks is that Nintendo is actually competent in archiving their work. Like every other major Japanese publisher has horror stories of losing the source code of their games. But Nintendo has the fucking code to SNES betas.
So
#StrangerofParadise
has what I'll call an anti-story.
It does have a story, but it's told in such a way that defies comprehension. What is this conversation?
Another example of Crunchyroll's attempts to be witty has completely obfuscated the clear meaning of the line. Here he's saying your death in the future will be the worst.
Just watched the 4k fan remaster of the New Maple Story Movie (which is basically just the first episode anyway). I really loved the backgrounds so much. The artistry is so good.
Thinking about how being on the pro-censorship side of manga and anime was such a losing issue for the communist party of Japan that they have to do this now to save face.
I love that Adult Swim bills it's self as the edgy network where cartoons can say "fuck" but when they aired Kill la Kill, they basically had to censored every other minute of it.
Gundam discourse will probably die off in a few weeks once people realize they have to actual watch the show to continue discussing it and cultural warriors on both sides realize they have to watch Gundam willingly.
On one side of AI art we have techbros posting soulless art with Adolf Hitler levels of bad proportions
On the other side we have koreans figuring out that AI can make perfect boobs
"get in the fucking robot, shinji"
"NGE is the first mecha where the protag doesn't want to pilot the mecha"
"NGE is a devilman ripoff"
"ᴱᵛᵃ ᶦˢ ᵃⁿ ᴵᵈᵉᵒⁿ ʳᶦᵖᵒᶠᶠ"
"why doesn't Shinji, simply fuck Misato?"
"RahXephon is Eva but good"
Are you ready for Friday?
Was really fun taking an animation class in middle school where the teachers would say how poorly animated anime was when I was watching this at the same time.
Does anyone feel like Cyberpunk 2077 being the scapegoat of modern AAA botch launches is because CD Projekt Red is a minor publisher. Yes they own GOG but they do not have the output of EA, Ubisoft, or even Bethesda. If you burn bridges with them, you're not losing much access.
Elon Musk is reddit incarnate but 90% of the twitter problems people are trying to contribute to Musk were their well before he took control, main difference he's mask off about the real perks of being verified. Verified users always their tweets and replies push to the top.
This year
@TheGameAwards

I think all media should be sexless Marvel slop with funny Whedon dialogue at all times and key jangling so I don't think ever think about my mortality even for a second.
@lorelli_
Yui Ikari from Evangelion fits this too. Her widow basically destroyed all pictures of her and you first only see her in an episode long flashback.
It's just bothering me as it just doesn't need to be this way and the line would have just a striking if it was just translated like how viz did it before.
I think i speak for everyone when I say:
Animated films in 2023 have become extremely critical among critics this year. To be honest, I don't think we should even consider listing to them at all.

Never look into too deeply but basically they wash up before entering a bath as the bath is mostly for the therapeutic value and the water is used between multiple family members.
This was prompted by the moving Gundam statue but lesser known is the recent live size Scopedog statue from Armored Trooper Votoms. The people in the second picture is mecha designer Kunio Okawara and the director Ryosuke Takahashi. Absolutely one of my favorite mecha designs.
This legitimately hasn't been true for 40+ years now. Strong female characters have always popular and series from the 70s featuring them still get call back and homages in modern anime and manga.
You can tell those fake 80s/90s aesthetics acounts never watch mecha anime because gundam is chock full of the quotes that would get thousands of likes.
No show, NO SHOW with child protagonists has ever done this. We see kids on tv shows go through all these life/death situations and watch them like they're normal. And this is the first show that actually looks at that and says "No, that's not normal" thanks

Cowboy Bebop fans deserve this mess. Every backhand compliment that went like "Unlike most anime, I don't feel embarrassed while watching it" asked for this future.
People be like wow, Evangelion ripped off Ideon and Devilman and Ultraman and Gundam and some scifi book cover
Yeah its almost like Evangelion took inspiration from a variety of different sources with drastically different subject manners and tone and made them work well together
