@JamesGDAngelo @MIT_SHASS @MITPoliSci This is a good point. Of course, it is important to think about whether information becomes especially more "transparent" to certain actors (e.g., lobbyists) than to others. It is also important to think about any unintended consequences as you noted. Thanks.

@ScottsSoapbox Thanks for asking. OpenSecrets is great, but the main value-added would be that we offer standardized firm and industry identifiers so that researchers can merge lobbying data with other financial dbs. We also distinguish issue-specific involvements of lobbyists and gov agencies
