To clarify: taxes do not belong to the individuals who paid them. If a community pays to create parks, streets, and school districts, they are a shared accessible resource. But one may not opt to take his share of parks funding and pay his country club dues. Or private school.

#Olathe parents/patrons will ultimately weigh in on Rep. Essex's decision to flip on SB83. It is a school district with a strong sense of pride in its educational system. It's unlikely they will support her vote and I'm surprised she's taking this political risk. #ksleg #ksed.

A must read. Rep. Williams woefully underestimates the cost of her voucher bill. Research shows almost 61% of students enrolling in these programs return to public schools in two years or less. And my personal experience shows these students come back behind and require extra.
