Humble opinion of a complementarian: I think we have a problem much greater than the small number of female pastors in the SBC. It’s the number of male pastors who do not meet the biblical qualifications of an elder.

Today a sister SBC church allowed me the privilege of baptizing my grandson. I heard a solid expository sermon, a lot about discipleship, and a serious commitment to God’s Word. They have a wonderful Children’s Pastor. But she is female, so some want to kick them out. Ridiculous!

Calling other Christians with whom you disagree “infidels” is despicable. Encouraging others to join the “fight” without regard to the mission is underhanded. But this is right from the CN playbook unfortunately. What a shame these tactics are being used.
I’ve had several conversations since Indy with former SBC guys who are considering coming and fighting with us in Dallas.
The thing about those people is they will join FOR the fight. They get it.

Charlie Kirk called compassion for migrants “one of the major moral failings of the American church” and mocked pastors who believe the Bible teaches to welcome migrants with love:

We are also part of the decline. We removed 2,000 from our roles in our Operation Bo Peep (trying to find our lost sheep). We are currently taking a hard look and will likely lose about another 100 or so. We actually had members born in the 1800s and some living in other states.
Sorry guys, my church is a significant contributor to the decline in SBC membership. We dismissed 5000-7000 not too long ago. And let me apologize in advance for the next 3 years because there are several thousand more that have to go.

OTD in 1651 Obadiah Holmes, a baptist arrested for preaching outside of the state churches in Massachusetts, is given 30 lashes for his preaching. He told the magistrates that they “beat him as with roses.”
