@JoeyWahler No one said that. It was rather that no one wanted Alonso back at an obscene term and AAV. He even left guaranteed $$ on the table again by passing on the 3rd year. There’s no way to not look at this as a win for the Mets FO and an L for Boras Corp.

@jwr020819 Again, I’ll ask, what FA have the #Mets yet to lose out on that they’ve targeted? I envy the Red Sox a bit with Crochet, Buehler and how they would have bolstered NYM’s rotation, but were they ever “in” on both? No reason to still not entrust Stearns fully.

@NYLionsFan @DRonESPN I’m not sure you’re looking for an 8/9-win season, this team just needs to show improvement. And the one position this team has failed at for some time now is the most important. Show any lack of offensive ineptitude at this point and they’ll be back.
