Today, an aunty started fighting with me, she said my car touched her activa, which I don't think it did. I said I'm sorry, she started berating and howling and demanding money. Started clicking pictures of me and my car, I offered to call the police started throwing names around

Today was my first visit to jail to meet a client who’s an inmate. A few interesting observations:
1.Upon entering the office area after due clearance, I was met with by the jail staff. I sat on one chair in the office while the inmates I was there to meet were being called.(1/n)

I called out an advocate from Delhi about the lack of ethics in fee sharing and them keeping 77% of the fee while I argue the matter and attend the court and somehow I’m the bad guy.
Gonna call out everyone who thinks I’m not smart enough to find all that out.

Today I mark a new beginning, after months of looking for a chamber, a senior at bar has lent me his chamber for a few months till the time I can get my own and in the meanwhile for me to establish my practice. May this be the beginning I've been looking for. Send good wishes.

Lawyers in Punjab called for a strike yesterday and the reason for it was heart wrenching. Some police officials in Mukatsar Sahib took law into their hands and committed brutality on one lawyer in wrongful custody and even committed unnatural acts with the lawyer.

Today I reached court at 9am, prepared the case waited till 11:45 for the case to be called up. And didn’t even get a chance to argue. What’s the worst part, was laughed at by everyone because didn’t get a chance to say that I want to address arguments and will file reply later

A lawyer who is not a designated Senior Advocate wears their blazer at a trial court, but no one questions it. This bothers me because they wear it as if it is meaningless and devalues the achievement we are striving for.

Being congratulated and praised by seniors after arguments is one of the best rewards for a young lawyer.
As soon as I finished my arguments, the next in line to argue stopped to congratulate me first, that made me so happy. Hopefully, the order also comes in our favour.

Courts of IAS officers result in wastage of time, I'm sure they don't mean to.
Case was listed at 2PM. The concerned officer came at 3:30. Thereafter, list that was supposed to be taken up @ 12 was taken up. Meanwhile, Sr No 1 in 2PM list is typing this tweet at 4:11.

Argued a matter for 40 minutes. Got the stay vacated and used each and every argument put forth by the opposing counsel and replied to it with proper evidences and analogies.
Favourite part was the adjudicating officer patiently giving audience to both the sides. Grateful. 🧿

Was able to secure the suspension of sentence and bail for a client who had been languishing in prison for more than 3 years on the first date of appearance after he engaged me as a counsel. Argued the matter and it was worth seeing the sigh of relief on the faces of the family.

Though I wasn’t at Patiala Courts yesterday, I heard this morning that one girl, who had come to seek protection with her partner, was abducted from Court premises by approx 100 people.
This is wrong on so many levels. Strongest of action should be taken against the offenders.

my junior got scolded by this Hon'ble judge in the open court just for drinking Water! I don't know why Milords want to show such a GODFATHER behaviour! Ig the court wants a set precedent that drinking water in the court is a grave criminal act. Hail Milord!

Hiii, personal experience. It doesn't matter. You can surpass most of them if you put your mind to it. And for us judiciary aspirants, we have the edge of knowing the law better than the fresh lawyers. Use the judiciary knowledge to your advantage.

Judges who listen to the arguments and reasoning and then take a decision are so much better than the judges who have already made their mind and won’t budge an inch. Got two favourable orders today and I went in with zero expectations. 🤞🏾

I couldn’t stop thinking about all the times I’ve stood before a bench pleading for bail for a person whom I knew to be innocent and the bail be denied because the judge didn’t want to grant a bail as the charges were to stringent.

The sheer wastage of paper can be stopped if some advocates can be more tech friendly.
I gave the citation of fifteen judgments I am heavily relying upon to the opposing counsel, he refused to dowload them. I provided him the soft copies, he said he wants hard copies.

While arguing a bail matter today, I stated before Court that the IO had taken into custody two children aged about 12-14 years along with the Petitioner who were later let go off the next day. The IO said chod toh dia next day, but how could you take a child to the PS?

So, a few seniors whom I’ve assisted and worked with, have not cleared my fee despite many reminders. Maybe, for them the amount is peanuts but for a person managing his own office and having bills to clear every amount is significant.
Some clients too, don’t pay the fee promptly
I recently sent a legal notice on behalf the promoter / owner of a listed company having a valuation of approximately 45-50k crore!
It so happens that even such big companies/HNIs do not pay bills
Perhaps he is in need of money more than me
