I uh… I don’t understand why this blew up. This isn’t news. It’s been public knowledge that TF3 was in development before the team pivoted to Apex Legends. It’s no mystery that the Titanfall team made Apex or that experimentation in TF3 development led to Apex.
Mohammad Alavi, a former developer on Titanfall 3, said that much work on the sequel had been done, but that it was only "incrementally better" and not "revolutionary."

I just noticed if someone I follow on twitter follows an Apex leaker, then I’m exposed to leaks. As a dev this obviously doesn’t effect me, but I just realized our fans can’t help but be exposed to leaks even if they don’t want to. That upsets me even more than I already was.

To the argument that TF3 didn’t need to be much better than TF2 - I think you feel that way because of how unique TF2 felt. If TF3 was just more of the same, it would lack that feeling you’re yearning for. I’d rather leave fans with a fond memory than disappointed with mediocrity

4) As ships mathematically enter the playable space, I delete the facades from the skybox render and spawn the real versions into the playable space, I do the reverse for ships leaving the playable space behind the player.

This is a great message - I never got replies or got rejected from Valve, Id, Naughty Dog, Sony, Bungie, and literally a hundred more.
After the 100th or so application, someone took a chance on me… and someone will take a chance on you too… just don’t get frustrated.
I’ve been rejected by:
- Ready At Dawn
- Naughty Dog
- Obsidian
- Riot
- Blizzard
- Way more that I’ve shot apps to and didn’t get an interview. In fact, at most I didn’t interview.
The folks at Respawn saw my potential and gave me a shot. Rejections aren’t the end of the world.

The game’s success is unequivocally NOT helped by leakers. This is the worst argument I always hear. Sweaty internet trolls are no match for the millions of dollars and 1000’s of hours we invest in marketing. The Apex marketing team is in-house and integrated with the devs.

Feb marks 20 years in the game industry! Wow! I know there are devs with more tenure, but this still feels like a big deal to me. Looking back, I’ve had quite the illustrious career and been incredibly lucky to work with very talented people who appreciate me.
