whoops, it's looking increasingly likely that twitter's either gonna collapse or try to ban all the trans people for speaking up against people that hate us and are trying to eradicate us from public society
we're gonna need a contingency plan at some point
What doesn't count as 'politics' in videogames according to 'gamers':
โขWars, in many forms
โขRelations between governing bodies
โขExploitation of underclasses
โขFighting for military forces
What does:
โขGay people existing
โขWomen not being subservient or docile
"i treated my son like my personal property and he turned out just fine"
your trans daughter is talking about not being a person and openly calling itself a doll
so let me get this straight, there's a grift going around
โขthat explicitly targets transfems affected by attempts to ban access to hrt
โขselling herbal supplements to "replace estrogen"
โขusing a substance known to increase dht and testosterone production
'Cancel culture', 'cancelled' and 'cancelling' have basically ended up in the same situation as 'triggered'.
Terms made by a specific marginalised community that have been co-opted by reactionaries, divorced from their original context and overused incorrectly.
Also things that don't:
โขRace relations amongst fictional races/species
โขMonarchies
โขImperialism
Things that do:
โขAcknowledgement of real-life marginalised racial groups
โขWomen who dress sensibly
A part of trans culture is claiming fictional characters as trans even if they're not 'canonically trans' because trans representation in media is so poor.
Here's a good one:
Saying "trans rights" is not a political statement, nor is it up for debate.
The only reason why people view it as a political statement is because people opposed to it have politicised it as an issue, and are attempting to turn human rights into a debate.
Are trans women women.
Are trans men men.
Are non-binary people non-binary.

Things that fascists believe aren't violence:
-Forced relocation of millions of people
-Denying people basic human rights
-Hate speech of all kinds
-Terrorism (when it's theirs)
Things that fascists believe are violence:
-Milkshakes
-Eggs
-Memes of anime trans girls holding guns
โขat such a high dosage that it can interfere with other common medications and substances, increasing the risk of developing serotonin syndrome
yeah, this one is malicious. like, actually fucking evil kind of thing.
The core of the 'outrage' regarding the new She-Ra cartoon is men who were once the boys who would bully people for watching 'girls cartoons' now trying to claim ownership over those cartoons.
@artnet
Artists are poor because capitalism demands wage slavery. Many artists spend their time practicing their work, and this is seen as 'unproductive' because it doesn't make them money.
"It's dehumanising to refer to a person by it/its pronouns who doesn't use them", "it/its pronouns are valid pronouns and aren't inherently dehumanising" and "some people use it/its pronouns specifically because they reject humanity/personhood" are all takes that can coexist.
TERFs: "actually we're about protecting women and girls!"
Also TERFs: *support things like mandatory, invasive genital inspection that borders on sexual assault for children and adults to 'protect single-sex spaces'*
Trans rights are for all trans people, not just the ones that easily assimilate into cis society and thus are more palatable to them.
Also trans rights also affect non-binary, agender and genderfluid people whether they classify themselves as trans or not.

Yikes... As an autistic person who also struggles with anxiety issues, I literally cannot function in crowds without headphones on to listen to music on my phone, and/or looking at it. If someone did this to me, I would have a meltdown immediately.
Twitter: *makes a big deal about banning anyone who 'wishes death' on reactionary political figures*
Also Twitter: *refuses to ban people making blatant death threats and suicide jokes towards trans people*
(cw: transmisia)
The reason why transmisic bigots believe "there's only two genders" is because they're using the trial version of gender.
If you register, you unlock countless more genders, as well as the the gender editor where you can design and share your own gender!
People 'concerned' about 'free expression' in art when it's promoting bigotry: "it's just 'edgy' art, censoring it is bad!"
Those same people when it's depicting shoplifting from chain stores that exploit and abuse their employees: "this is wrong and needs to be censored!"
are you a *says "i love you" to everyone that's nice to you* traumaqueer or a *afraid to say "i love you" out of fear of forming attachments* traumaqueer?
Seeing a lot of people accusing us of 'generalising', so let's address this.
We are very careful about how we word things like this. We used 'gamers' in quotation marks, referring primarily to people who use 'gamer' identity as a simulated marginalised identity.
A very short guide on how to tell whether a trans/autistic/disabled/plural person is 'faking it':
You can't, so you should stop trying to tell them they're faking.
Usually people acting in bad faith with these labels are self-evident, due to not understanding them at all.
Game Freak: *creates a pokemon that happens to be in trans flag colours*
Trans people: "that pokemon is trans!"
Agitated and probably transmisic 'gamers': "eww, why pokemon trans?"
Game Freak: *makes more pokemon in trans flag colours*
it really is transphobic that nobody is here cuddling me and stroking my hair while i play videogames, telling me that i'm doing good and giving me tips on it
That specific subgroup of gamers are the ones most often accusing the presence of marginalised people as 'political' while ignoring the inherent political implications of any form of media, and sometimes even ignoring directly political text within media.
All these viral hot takes about how "we shouldn't glamorise mental illness" or bemoaning "how normalised mental illness is", but we'd much rather see mental illnesses normalised and maybe even glamorised a bit to being outright demonised like they always are.
'Cool' is hardly the right word to describe a device that's effectively made for torturing neurodivergent people into fitting into neurotypical society...
'Nightmarish' and 'inhumane' are better words to describe this.
Check out these cool brain-reading AttentivU glasses from MIT Media Lab - this is what they think students should wear when "viewing online lectures as well as listening to classroom lectures" to physically "nudge" them to pay attention
if you're openly visible as a trans person on a public platform like this one, odds are very high that you personally have inspired at least one person to discover their own transness through exposure to your existence and experiences
(cw: transphobic slur)
Trans people: "tr*p is a slur, used to harm trans people and excuse violence towards us"
Transphobes: "nu-uh, it's an anime thing and nobody calls trans people that at all"
The same transphobes: "lol, you're a tr*p"
hot take: shaming people who are questioning core elements of their identity and experimenting with different expressions of their identity is bad and harmful.

And I know, because this has happened to me before. It's the sort of thing that makes me not want to go out for days or even weeks afterwards. So thank you for doing everything you can to make me and others like me feel unwelcome in society.
This is probably going to be unpopular...
A lot of edgy 'atheism' is just modern Christian moral beliefs with all the 'God' parts filed off and a bunch of 'Science' stickers covering up the scratches.
Strictly online adult queer culture is figuring out what combinations of identity labels best fit you and then being harassed by people half your age arguing how "you don't understand your own labels or history"...
In this space, we accept and support all kinds of lesbian:
*He/him lesbians
*They/them lesbians
*It/its lesbians
*Lesbians who use neopronouns
*Lesbians who use multiple sets of pronouns
*Trans lesbians
*Non-binary lesbians
*Agender lesbians
*Ace/arospec lesbians
We as a community say 'trans rights' a lot, and while we definitely should continue saying it, here's a few more:
โข Ace/arospec rights!
โข Bi/pan rights!
โข Non-binary rights!
โข Polyam rights!
And obviously gay rights and lesbian rights are important things we should say too!
The irony of 'gamers' who define their entire identity by the specific products of capitalism they consume accusing marginalised people of 'defining their identity by their characteristics of marginalisation' is immeasurable.
Hot take: safewords and consent checks aren't just for kink scenes and sexual activity, and we should normalise their use in more than just those contexts.
@saidowaindaa
Misia/misic is a more respectful and direct alternative to phobic as a suffix for such behaviour. It calls more attention to hate as opposed to fear, and doesn't stigmatise people with phobias.
Seeing a rise in not non-binary people using 'enby' to refer to non-binary people thanks to this 'discourse'...
We're okay with using the term personally, but many non-binary people find it to be infantilising, and we generally refrain from using it for all non-binary people.

1 female character: "It's fine as long as she doesn't get any focus"
2 female characters: "Forced diversity! Pandering to the SJW agenda!"

Anarcho-communism: an ideology that questions hierarchies while aiming to create a society where workers own the means of production.
Arachno-communism: The same as above, but the workers are spiders!
Arcano-communism: The same as above, but with magic!
Things that need to be normalised in 2019:
โข people using they/them pronouns
โข people using neopronouns
โข people using multiple sets of pronouns
โข people using plural pronouns
โข people using their name instead of pronouns
โข asking people what pronouns they use

The only answer to any of these is yes.
People's identities are not up for debate.
Two things that can simultaneously be true:
โข'Queer' is a (reclaimed) slur, and some people are uncomfortable with it being used for them.
โขThe push against people using 'queer' at all as a term relating to LGBTGA+ identities comes mainly from exclusionary 'radfems'.
"my child is neurotypical"
your child is constantly starting different projects, being completely obsessed with them for the first few days before moving on to another new project with the same intensity as the previous
'Alter' ๐ค 'Transsexual'
*outdated terms created by medical systems with an adversarial relationship to the people they're used for, that nonetheless are still used by those who find comfort in them*
A guide to 'politics', as imagined by 'gamers'.
Things that aren't 'political':
-wars, real and fictional
-examining economic/political systems
-abuse and exploitation of workers
Things that are 'political':
-queer people existing
-women who aren't 'conventionally attractive'
If you're a queer and/or trans person and/or a plural system and you're significantly visible on here, odds are at least one queer/trans person or plural system has embraced their nature as queer, trans and/or plural specifically because of you.
Since LGBTQIA+ Pride month (or should that be LGBTQIA+ Discourse month?) is coming up in a couple days, we'll get a few basic statements out of the way:
โขAce/arospec people are queer.
โขYou don't need dysphoria to be trans.
โขGatekeepers aren't welcome, and neither are cops.
Most queer 'discourse' on Twitter is blatantly just harassment of people who use particular identity labels being framed as "a debate over the validity of those identity labels".
Honestly it's pretty messed up that it's framed like that...
So a 'bi lesbian' exclusionist has been going around adding people to a list titled 'homophobes and transphobes', and this is dangerous and in fact very queermisic.
We don't doubt for a second that they intend to spread it around without that context.
"Saying 'minecraft bee is trans'"
-Wholesome
-Recognises the complexities of bee genders
-Affirms trans people's existence
"Replying to that with 'how'"
-Low effort
-Already stale and overused
-Came from someone initiating a dogpile on a person
People who treat 'therapy' as if it's the perfect answer to any and all mental health issues have little to no experience being poor, queer and/or neurodivergent and it shows.
i've figured it out!
a lesbian is a non-human that's attracted to the scent of fresh blood, a bi is a little doll that loves being owned by many witches and a pan is a Completely Normal Person that just happens to exist in every dimension and has a loved one in each one
'Gamers': "Capitalism is good actually"
AAA gaming industry: *tops its own exploitative bullshit yet again*
'Gamers': "This goes against gaming!"
Leftists: "This is what capitalism looks like"
'Gamers': *silence*
'Gamers' a few days later: "Capitalism is good actually"
'Gamers' when a real-world war fps blames Russia for war crimes committed by the US: "it's just a game, it's fictional!"
'Gamers' when a real-world war fps features a woman: "This isn't historically accurate! Stop shoving politics into our videogames!"
Liberals: "yeah, 'Abolish ICE and the police', we need to reform them to be good or replace them with good versions!"
Leftists: "actually, by 'Abolisn ICE and the police', we mean get rid of them completely, not just replace or reform them"
Liberals:
