No. Show me how many 24 yr olds own a “normal house” (what is that, exactly?) in New York City. Or San Francisco. Or London. Or any other world class city. My parents didn’t until they were in their 50’s. I didn’t until my 40’s. The difference is we didn’t complain about it.

Sometimes the solutions we need can be found in our history books.
Canada’s “war-time” housing response created simple pre-approved designs that could be built quickly, to build homes we needed when our soldier came home.

Some flaws with the Schreiner ➡️OLP leader idea:
1) he is the leader of a provincial party. They won one seat last election.
2) the OLP has lost touch with grassroots members & organizing. A hand-picked candidate by OLP insiders does not address this problem, it exasperates it.

One thing not mentioned in this article - housing (un)affordability is resulting in a massive brain drain away from our cities. When productive people are working in close proximity to each other, there's a multiplier effect - see Silicon Valley.

To summarize:
- Most PC wins weren't close (less than a quarter had a margin of victory <= 10%)
- NDP had a huge drop in average vote share per riding (went from 34% avg vote share in 2018 to 24% in 2022)
- the OLP lost a lot of close races, and the NDP won a lot of close races.
