Now, will I get back on a motorbike? Yes. I already bought a new one.
It was my 2nd time out, with less than 100km in the saddle. I feel like I didn’t get a chance. My inexperience is what caused the crash. So I’d like to see what a couple of rides without one feel like.

I got the worst case of the best-case scenario. Because despite the deep break and fix, I will be able to get my full range of motion back.
Everyone from family, friend and work have been so wonderful. I appreciate all they’ve done to help me through this.

That meant I had to switch hospitals to get the surgery. All told I was two weeks in hospital. I left after Easter with a screw in my shoulder.
Surgery recovery is what has kept me away for two months as it’s been a slow rebuild. I’m healing 1% per day.

Today I learned that it is impossible to share an iPad GarageBand file with another iPad.
You can send the file with iMessage or E-mail, but on the other end it will arrive as an un-openable and covert .zip.

At the hospital I learned that I broke my pinky toe, my top right rib – which poked a hole in my lung – and my scapula, including the glenoid (which is the socket).
Treatment wise, the lung required a chest tube to be inserted. And I’m told a glenoid break is quite rare.

It is. I do. I’ve been off for the past two and a half months recovering from a motorcycle accident. This week is my first week back, and I’m returning to work gradually.

It took us time. We completed the motorcycle course in Oct. After, all I wanted was to get better.
But, I didn’t get my own bike until New Years. And being a learner in the winter, meant the only time I could even go out for a ride was on a clear, not too cold, weekend day.

There’s a lot to re-familiarize myself with. My bike has a jumpy throttle. On one curve I went wide for some reason, and then turning around another corner felt great. Clearly, I have to practice turning.
But after trying a few quick wrist twists, I understood why people ride.

My handlebars started wobbling. “Oh. This is happening today?!” I shouted. And yeah.. I high-sided off the bike. I definitely did something wrong.
The family who live on the corner and helped call the ambulance said that they’ve many crashes over the 50 years they been there.

That weekend came in the middle of March. And so I marched to where my bike was stored, cleaned and lubed the chain and with a little daylight left I suited up and took my bike for a spin just in the neighbourhood.

That Sunday, I went out with my brother-in-law. 45 mins in, the straight road we were on was soon to end. I saw the curve ahead, and slowed down. But in the turn, I was going wide again! Slightly panicked, I remembered, “look where you want to go.” And so I did.

The timing will be interesting. I’m told I’ll be fully mended around 3 months, so July 1st. Now, if I don’t pass my road test before my learners expires on July 23rd, I’ll have to start my licensing from scratch again. 😬

Mercifully, the seller of my new bike was motivated and dropped the price real low. So I grabbed it quickly.
It’s basically the same as my old bike, only two years older and a lot more scratched (on the other side). Also needs a bit of a tune up as it was sitting for 3 yrs.

Well… Over a month later I found my bike for sale of FB Marketplace for $700 more than I paid for it! I called the guy, who repairs these write-offs, and he was like “oh yeah just fixed the handlebar and foot peg”. A little over $100 in parts, inspected and with rebuilt title.

My insurance was like, we’ll give you money for your old bike, or you can keep your broken bike. “I stopped counting after 4 broken parts” is what my estimator said to me. So I took the money.

One thing that concerns me about Housing supply discussions is no one specifies the type of housing supply when pushing for it.
I read recently that only 2,500 3-bedroom units were built in Toronto between 2016 and 2021, but 10x Studios were built. That’s not what we need.
