A great paper to be part of, with important findings to consider for clinical practice and education.
How important is SMT specificity? Our new paper shows specificity might matter less than we thought, but don’t misinterpret it! 🚨 Proper training & skill still matter such as good patient alliance, respectful hands-on techniques, adapting to patient comfort Open access soon!

And PhD paper number 2 for @annie_young4 - on a roll 👏👏👏
We use the available evidence to describe how patient reassurance is used and assessed in the management of low back pain. There are no validated measures to directly assess patient reassurance after an intervention for low back pain.

Congratulations @annie_young4 for your first PhD publication - an excellent paper looking at a very important component of clinical care for low back pain
How should clinicians best provide reassurance to reduce the fears and worries of people with low back pain? We explore clinician experiences and provide useful recommendations for clinical practice.

Thanks for the opportunity to discuss shared decision-making and the development of a decision aid for the management of sciatica, it was a great conversation @julieayre32 @MarkHancockPT @CGMMaher @KirstenMcCaffer
In our latest podcast episode, @ChrisHughen sat down with @julieayre32 and @hjenk001 to discuss Shared Decision-Making. They dive into the purpose of shared decision-making, how to practically implement it into practice, decision aids and their utility for both patients and clinicians, and much More.

Great to work on this paper led by @DMcNaughton121 assessing trajectories of low back pain in older males ⤵️⤵️⤵️
Excited to share a recent @CARLProgram publication! We identified 5 distinct LBP trajectories in older men over a 10 year period. Thanks to a wonderful team to get this over the line!!

Really enjoyed being part of this team led by @julieayre32 to develop a decision aid to help people with sciatica
Consultations with surgeons can be really overwhelming. We've designed a decision aid to help patients with sciatica* prepare for an appointment with a surgeon, and to support discussions about what matters most to the patient:

@Casper_Nim @MarkHancockPT 🤣 didn’t want to complicate the analysis with additional variables, only pool swimming allowed

Thanks for leading a really interesting study @giovanni_ef, was a great team to work with
New paper out 📢 Adding brief pain science or ergonomics messages to guideline advice did not increase feelings of reassurance in people with acute low back pain Thanks for leading @giovanni_ef @msk_health

Thanks @CasperGNim Great working with my @CARLProgram teammates, @silmior and @french_simon on this paper. Is chiropractic care a ‘one size fits all’ approach? This study says no! See to find out when different management options are selected
So what is chiropractic care? Well it depends on both the practitioner and the patient. However, SMT very common! Great work @hjenk001 and the gang @CARLProgram and @french_simon @silmior
