I don't think that the US, for example, should be less active in funding Israel or Ukraine, but that shouldn't be the primary goal.
As a voter, you can not vote "for a foreign country" as it is not said country's election.

It's an equally bad idea to vote on the basis of a single policy because, well, the world is complicated. You shouldn't vote for a candidate because you think he or she will benefit a certain aspect of society. You should vote for that person for the good of your country.
