It's exhausting. People who like Val, such as myself, get so much backlash for no reason and I'm so tired of it. Especially compared to Vox, who is equally as controlling, abusive, and manipulative. That's why the ship works.
Hate to say this, but if you hate val you will hate voxval, and believe it or not, that's most people. And unfortunately, alot of people cannot tell the difference between fiction and reality and constantly bully people who like val which leads to what your talking about :/

As someone who does like the show, my take is that she was going to keep the cast but they needed to be in the Screen Actor's Guild in order to be able to actually be in the show, as well as have singing qualifications that some of the pilot ones didn't quite meet.
