Malik Washington helped turn Archbishop Spalding into a powerhouse. Then he committed to Maryland.
Neither decision was a coincidence. He’s always embraced challenge, and he takes pride in winning at home.
Virginia Tech transfer Rodney Rice has committed to Maryland, per
@TiptonEdits
.
Rice is a former DeMatha standout with three years of eligibility remaining. Averaged 20.5 points, four rebounds and four assists as a senior on 42% 3-point shooting.
Terps’ first portal commit.
Kevin Willard: "I'm gonna call the head of the refs tomorrow ... I hope I get an explanation on how DeShawn's, really should've been an and-one, not get overturned. And then he got called for an offensive foul ... I think we deserve an explanation of why those calls were called."
Kevin Willard: “We missed seven wide open threes in the first half. So, I don’t know how much more we can do when you get a wide open shot. I’ll try to put a new play in to get a wide, wide, wide open shot. Maybe that will help.”
So Iowa gets a higher 2 seed than Maryland because…it’s 3 spots higher in RPI?
Maryland beat Iowa *one* day ago in the B1G championship, took 2 out of 3 in the season series in Iowa City and had a better strength of schedule.
My profile on Keion and Keyshawn Flowers, the
@SpaldingFB
standout linebackers who are both committed to Maryland football.
On an unbreakable brotherly bond and a lifelong dream fulfilled:
Malachi Palmer is probably one of the better pure scorers Maryland has recruited the past few years.
Can create his own shot, looks comfortable as a pull-up or catch-and-shoot guy. Could bring a much-needed scoring punch right away.
2025 McDonogh five-star goalie Aidan Seibel announced his commitment to Maryland men’s lacrosse on Instagram.
He’s ranked as the No. 9 player in his class by Inside Lacrosse. John Tillman starts off his 2025 class on the right note.
Here’s the moment Lee committed inside the Flowers auditorium, via his IG Live. Lee’s teammate and fellow Terps commit
@LloydReacts
dapped him after he made it official in a nice moment.
Four-star CB Braydon Lee is staying home, announcing he has flipped from South Carolina to Maryland.
The C.H. Flowers product had been committed to the Gamecocks since April, but Michael Locksley secured the signing day flip. Lee will early enroll in the spring semester.
3-star OT Ryan Howerton just announced his commitment to Maryland football on IG Live. From Laurel, MD, Howerton is ranked as the No. 72 tackle in the nation per 247Sports. He chose the Terps over Pitt and West Virginia.
Donta Scott: “I've been very loyal to any team I've stepped on… Being in the same place for [five years] without people trying to take you out, it means a lot.”
Meet Malik Washington, the
@SpaldingFB
star who diced up Pallotti for a 41-point first half Friday.
The
#1
QB in Maryland for 2025 is receiving interest from schools across the country. The Terps — in hot pursuit — would love to keep the four-star home.
‘24 RHP/OF Ryan Bailey commits to the Terps and new head coach Matt Swope. Won CHSAA Player of the Year as a junior, pitching a 1.81 ERA and hitting for a .408 average at the plate.
2024 consensus four-star RB DeJuan Williams commits to Maryland. A big get for Mike Locksley and co. as the first four-star of the class and another local product (St. Frances).
Williams is the No. 20 RB in the nation and the No. 6 recruit in Maryland, per 247Sports.
2025 4-star Eli Schaller has committed to Maryland men’s lacrosse. Set to join his brother, Will, who played 11 games for the Terps as a freshman last season.
Schaller recently transferred schools and will be teammates with ‘25 commit and 5-star goalie Aidan Seibel at McDonogh.
Four-star DL Ernest Willor Jr., the top uncommitted prospect in Maryland, will take three official visits in December, per
@247Sports
:
• Dec. 1: Wisconsin
• Dec. 8: Ohio State

Freshman guard Jahnathan Lamothe, Queen’s former St. Frances teammate, is on hand doing some recruiting.
Maryland picks up a commitment from St. John’s (DC) 3-star safety Shamar McIntosh, who took an official visit to College Park this weekend. McIntosh marks the 20th commitment of the Terps’ 2024 class.
Terez Davis grew up playing basketball. He thought he wanted to be in the NBA, just like his dad.
But the son of Ricky Davis charted his own path. One year after switching to football, Davis is now the unheralded star of Maryland’s 2024 recruiting class.
Jahmir Young’s averages in four games against high major opponents:
23.5 PPG

Excited to announce my commitment to the University of Maryland! Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way!! 🐢

Maryland is playing..
• The worst defense in the Big Ten by a sizable margin (156th nationally per KenPom)
• Who’s in last place in the B1G + on a four-game losing streak
• Without its leading scorer
• At home
And is down 33-21 at halftime. This is about as low as it gets.
I’m a Maryland TERP!!! First off I want to thank everyone and every school that recruited me throughout this process but after a good and long talk with my family I will officially be shutting down my recruitment!!!

Analyzed the five-star’s performance at Tuesday’s McDonald’s All American game and why it raised expectations even higher than they were before:
Maryland men’s lacrosse lands 2025 midfielder Christopher Alexis (Salisbury, CT).
Alexis is “arguably the best athlete in the class” per
@natlaxfed
. He was NLF’s No. 2 overall prospect a few months back but has since dropped to No. 19.
“The thing these kids are going to remember at the end is dogpiling.”
That was Rob Vaughn’s message just three weeks ago after a 20-5 win over Nebraska. Today, his team got to celebrate its first ever Big Ten tournament title.

Rob Vaughn said if there’s one thing he’ll remember about the departing group of players, it’s that they’re winners.

Being older is a plus as long as you’re not past 30. Dame is still in his prime and is proven to be clutch. While we all know how special Luka is right now and going forward, I need to see him in a playoff setting before putting him ahead of Dame
