@chudologist i get what you mean and i dont think every mention inherently has that kind of political attachment, but there is something to be said about the fundamentals of "not changing vs embracing change" being the core tenet here. most directors of good movies are left leaning im sure

@chudologist oh definitely! it is largely based around and depicts conservative/trad characters (the main guy himself!) but it is closer to a critique of conservatism than an endorsement of it. that being said i wouldnt label the movies mentioned as "left" either from this perspective.

@eyeslasho that isnt what DEI/affirmative action is. a child born into poverty vs middle class is far less likely to go to college. a lot more black children are born into poverty due to historical injustices. the point is to attempt to level the playing field for future generations
