Good question. Hard to give definitive advice on this... So many firms fail to meet expectations. For me, I had my wife's health insurance to switch to and the 401(k) pales in comparison to the benefits I've seen since going on my own. Bottom line: If you're confident, bet on yourself. But don't take risks you can't afford to take.
