@noah_nonsense The site was made a National war memorial after the war. I’m not sure that the almshouses were still in use before the war.

The tower of the parish church of St Margaret in Topsham, Devon just catching the last light. The tower is C15 with the rest of a church being a late c19 rebuild. #steeplesaturday

For the love of the library. Some of the books kept at Hereford Cathedral's library, the largest surviving chained library in the world. Dating back to 1611, it includes the Hereford Gospels written in the C8 or C9 centuries. #booktreasure

Really enjoyed my visit to see the Worcestershire Hoard display @worcestermuseum & picking up a copy of @M_Andrews91 book. The coins are quite breathtaking in quality & were discovered in 2023 not far from Worcester. #roman #romanbritain

@DrFrancisYoung This casts my mind back to last Sunday’s episode of Antiques Roadshow where a woman brought in two saints arms relics for valuing. Bought as a pair in Bruges! She normally keeps them in her window!

St Mary’s Church, Oldswinford, & its yews. The church’s tower is C14 and unfortunately lost its spire to deterioration in the 70s. St Mary’s is the parish church of Stourbridge, the medieval Worcestershire town that was once the centre of UK glassmaking. #steeplesaturday
