@TheJerzWay They will count even shorter absences as spent in country. Also other ties (like having an apartment available to you) can make you tax resident in many countries. You can also be liable for tax without being tax resident. It’s not so simple.

@TheJerzWay Dude, you really shouldn’t be giving such advice. Switzerland has a tax residency limit of 90 days. Most countries will consider you tax resident if you have other ties to the country as well, even if you spend less than 90 days there. I truly hope people do their own research.

@paulmillr @dhh 1. There is no such law. It’s similar, but not like that. Takes too long to explain. 2. Again, they do pay wealth tax in Switzerland. But not on their actual wealth. The lump sum regime allows them to pay taxes (including wealth tax) on lower numbers, not actual wealth.

@paulmillr @dhh They don’t pay tax on their actual wealth, the numbers are far lower. Look up “lump sum tax Switzerland.” It’s a scheme designed to attract rich foreigners.

@paulmillr @dhh What you are missing is that the super rich can negotiate the tax they pay in Switzerland. This is not possible everywhere, but they move to regions where it is. And Switzerland has no capital gains tax (unless it's your job as a trader), so selling shares is tax free.

@HyattConcierge Does that feedback go to the hotel or to corporate? I have already emailed their Director of Operations. Just thought corporate would probably want to know as well.

@SAS @xyinle That is not correct. Only Star Alliance has accrual based on the operating carrier’s booking class. With SkyTeam, it is the marketing carrier’s booking class that matters. Which makes a lot more sense.

@British_Airways I don't think it's me. This happens on both the Iberia, the Aer Lingus and the British Airways website when I try to combine Avios, as soon as I try to log into the partner account. It looks like a server problem, not a problem with my account (I'm a software developer).

@British_Airways It was an Avios booking, booked on the BA website.

@British_Airways Thanks for your reply. I’m entitled to rerouting under EU261 (article 8), the directive that also regulates compensation. Could you please tell me where in the directive it says that it must be done within “ticket validity”? You can just issue a new ticket? CC: @dr_boese

@Delta If I book a flight with a partner airline from Europe to the US that includes a domestic connection on DL (e.g. XXX-ATL-YYY with ATL-YYY on DL), and I miss the DL flight because of long lines at immigration, will DL take control of the ticket and rebook me for free?

@British_Airways They said it's because they can no longer find the ticket in their system since it's so old. They said it's a case for the backoffice team that has access to older tickets as well.

@Mylovanov Norwegian IT company Crayon gave up their RU business in 2022, but the company registry hasn’t been updated. Now their UA business may have to shut down because they’re losing clients since they are incorrectly listed by LeaveRussia. Any idea?
