My PhD thesis "Quantum State and Unitary Complexity" is out: Three reasons to look at it even if you're already familiar with my papers:

@mattyglesias Will the fact that this trade happened under Trump’s watch finally turn Texas blue?

@NateSilver538 To any reader who agrees with Nate's assessment of the Raptors: I'll wager a few thousand dollars on my end vs. a correspondingly larger amount on your end about whether the Raptors will win a championship in the next ten years. (Reposting this from Substack for more visibility.)

@lreyzin Have Trump’s executive orders not gotten rid of that sort of thing?

@politicalmath @eigenrobot In that case I recommend Brahms’s symphonies (especially 3 and 4).

@goblinodds “Lock up” + “hours each day” sounds a lot more like high school than college to me.

@aryehazan @VerminusM I think most complexity theorists are sufficiently confident that P ≠ NP that they’d rather use the oracle on a more hotly contested question. E.g. I’d be inclined to ask about SETH, which is similar in spirit but a stronger claim that could more easily be wrong.

@PensareBBall Given what you’ve said about Darko’s defensive scheme forcing development by not letting anyone hide, I can understand why he’d limit the minutes of someone like Mogbo who can cover so much space on defense.

@captgouda24 Main reasons I'd be reluctant to do this: 1) I think I could be a better/happier parent to a child who has certain specific genetic similarities with me (some of which aren't inherently good or bad). 2) Kelly criterion + I know myself much better than I know anybody else.

@Benthamsbulldog Mainly I’m worried that Trump won’t even attempt to fight the China axis if they invade their neighbors. Is there any reason for optimism about this that I’m overlooking?

@tylercowen @RickRubin Very nice podcast! One correction: Shostakovich's Quartet #8 was written in 1960, and (as I understand the history) was more about his suicidal feelings at the time than about WWII victims, despite the official dedication.

@goblinodds Ok sure, caring a little tiny bit is within the level of compromise that I'd be okay with in a relationship. Caring enough that I'd feel fear for not noticing isn't (and I wouldn't expect my partner to understand all of my interests either).
