@realEstateTrent For most people, yes. Majority of my college friends did it and almost all went one of two routes: stuck with it and are financially secure for life at 40, or ditched it and found something entrepreneurial and had the skills, credibility, and network to make it successful.

@FarazJaka Yeah. I played full time for 2 years during the Moneymaker boom. Much easier games obviously and made great money, but still got burned out. Have enjoyed it a lot more since as a serious hobby / outlet for intellectual sparring.

The grandstanding and moralizing by politicians is 100% fake. The damage that their words have on our fellow citizens, our mental health, and on relationships with friends and family, is very real. These are truly evil people.
$40 Billion is enough to cure world hunger if you take it from billionaires, and completely inconsequential if you take it from the federal budget. Youth in the youngest congresswoman is like a breath of fresh air, but an enormous red flag when hired at DOGE.

@antoniogm We just lived through governments de-banking their citizens for having opinions about a virus they engineered and the destructive mitigation measures they deployed. I’ll keep my cash, thanks.

@skylarromines Convenient. The idea that it’s rude drives me crazy. It’s faster than back and forth over email. And if it’s a senior person, it’s their EA that does it anyway.

@paulg @EdKrassen Precisely. Notice how no one opposed to shutting down the DoE is able to articulate the ways in which it has materially improved public education outcomes, let alone whether the cost-benefit is justified against the alternatives.

@GiaMMacool My wife and I host a lot of professional social events. Hardly one goes by where someone doesn’t say “my partner does X…and by partner I don’t mean business-related, I mean my [and then uses the word wife, boyfriend, significant other, etc]”.

@DuffyEli @nayibbukele Our society is built around individual agency, which necessarily leads to high variance outcomes. To paraphrase Camille Paglia, we have 25% of the world’s prisoners because we have 25% of the world’s most productive people.

@AutismCapital @zerohedge When I lived in SF many of my friends lived in LA. Family in SD. Flying out of SFO sucked. Would’ve loved it for weekend trips — in theory. In practice, it’s CA, so we all know what it will (or may not be even) become.
