I wonder if WR coach Mike Brown helps save a penalty on the Beaux Collins back shoulder catch. Collins shoves the DB and Brown is immediately on the field yelling at him, at which point Collins goes to the ref and says it’s all good.
The story of Miller Moss:
-Committed to USC as a junior in HS as a top 100 player
-stayed committed when USC signed top 100 Jaxon Dart on NSD
-stayed when Dart beat him out
-stayed when USC brought in Williams
-Now has 6 TD passes when all the stars opted out.

Al Golden brings a zero blitz with the game on the line, with true freshman KVA on the field and putting his corners/safeties in man coverage, and then Christian Gray pays it off with perfect coverage/technique/break.
Throwing at Benjamin Morrison and Christian Gray last night: 4-11 (36%), 25 yards (2.3 ypa!), 3 passes broken up. Notre Dame’s corner tandem is elite again.
A Notre Dame student with an absolute dream shot with a marshmallow into Sam Hartmans hot chocolate from the stands. Show yourself so we can shower you with praise.
Kyren Williams with another 152 rushing yards and one touchdown.
He entered the game 2nd in the NFL in rush yards per game (89), 9th in total rushing yards despite missing 4 games with injury, 9th in yards per carry.
On track to be a pro bowler in his second season.
PFF has Jadarian Price and Jeremiyah Love down for 16 missed tackles forced on their 22 carries, and they combined for 135 yards, two touchdowns, and 6.1 yards per carry. Speed, elusiveness, and power. What you want.
Notre Dame went 11-1 and then fought off a coup within the program and emerged unscathed, never happened before, this is our 13th data point
@CFBPlayoff
Just so everyone understands the season Kyle Hamilton is having:
Leads the team in sacks
Tied for the team lead in TFL
Second on the team in passer rating against at 50.7
Has the teams only forced fumble
Hasn't allowed a touchdown in coverage
Third in defensive stops
Star
Hanging up the cleats for good! Excited to be joining Medasource January 9th! Thank you Notre Dame for being everything I could have asked for and more! Go Irish! ☘️🤟🏽
Hard to watch yesterdays game and not be excited for the offense in 2024. Every skill position player is back, minus Salerno, you add Leonard, Mitchell, and Collins, plus the freshmen. All the linemen from the game are back. Then the Denbrock addition. A lot to work with.
After 8 games and Ohio State + USC on the schedule, Notre Dame sits 4th in the nation in passing efficiency defense, at 97.49 passer rating against.
They've allowed 5 touchdowns all season, while picking off 9 passes, 5.5 ypa, and 52% passing.
All-time good pass defense.
Jeremiyah Love showing burst, good feet, elusiveness, tackle breaking, and vision on his three big runs in last nights victory. The true sophomore could be on for a big one in 2024.
No one has earned their place like Xavier Watts. Made the move to safety, then took the time to learn the position while playing with his hair on fire during games. Went from fun reserve, to key reserve, to solid starter, to the Defensive Player of the Year.
Respect.
Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts says he will play in the Sun Bowl.
"I kind of just want to play football regardless."
He leads the nation with seven interceptions.
Come for phenomenal one handed interception by Christian Gray.
Stay for the celebration afterwards. The sideline explodes, they completely mob him, injured starters, fellow freshmen.
It's 31-0. This is what culture looks like. 100% it's brought up in film.
First Hit and Hustle play of the season goes to Donovan Hinish, who gets knocked to the ground, gets up, and chases the QB out of bounds, saves the first down, Notre Dame forces a field goal. Always bet on a Hinish.
Through two games, Notre Dame has thrown two passes over 20 yards. One was dropped, one was intercepted. On the season they are 8-20 throwing the ball over 10 yards. Every game on the schedule is losable with a passing offense operating this way.
2nd and 10 start of the 3rd. Duke runs QB draw, Liufau tracks it down, pushes Leonard out at the 28. 3rd and 7.
The ball is spotted at the 29. Which is a yard too far, but that happens.
Refs stop play to re-spot the ball.
The move it a yard ahead. To the 30. No review.
Al Golden creates a pressure only sending 4 with every player accounted for and Weigman throwing while pedaling backwards. Creating free rushers without having to send numbers is the key to the sport on defense.
Does anyone know the rules at Notre Dame as far as tailgating during non game weekends? Can you do it? Should we all show up to the stadium tomorrow with grills and meat?
Player rank is back. We put together the top 100 CFB players for the 2024 season, considering both past performance and future projection. I'm sure there will be zero complaints.
Sam Hartman had his Notre Dame moment on 4th and 16 against Duke in what was imo the most thrilling play of the season. As called by
@PaulWBurmeister
and
@RyanHarris_68
.
I’ll look at the all-22 and lament the throws I wanted Ian to make, but he gave us the best stretch of Notre Dame football since 1993 and we sure as shit better not take that for granted, ever. Kid lived alone in an apartment for six months for chrissakes.
It's funny how random things stick with you. Against Pitt in 2012, Lou was sick during the week and didn't start. Emergency player. Except that game became an emergency and he came in the 2nd half. After Golson ties it, Manti goes straight to Lou. "We need you big guy."
Ezekiel Elliott is listed as RB1 on the Cowboys season opening depth chart for Cleveland.
Take that as you wish. Rookie Caelon Carson is listed as a starter at cornerback. Rookie Marist Liufau is listed as a starter ahead of DeMarvion Overshown
Between Xavier Watts being a Unanimous All-American and winning the Nagurski to Kyle Hamilton, Julian Love, Harrison Smith, and Alohi Gilman thriving in the NFL, 2023 is officially the year of Notre Dame safeties
For the season Cam Hart is 12-24 against for 127 yards (5.3 yards per attempt), he’s given up zero touchdowns, and a passer rating against of 65.8. Teams simply cannot throw on him.
Notre Dame sets up a wall for Love to run behind, and Flanagan seals off the backside to create the space for Love to sneak through for the game winner.
Worth pointing out Pyne missed Mayer and got his butt chewed for it, Mayer patted his helmet and said it'll be ok, Rees called the same play at the goal line and Pyne did not miss.
The quintessential Michael Mayer play. Players pointing at him, surrounded by four, might as well be zero, the challenging defender bounces off of him as though he was trying to break up a pass intended for a grizzly bear.
Freshman corner Christian Gray led the defense with 42 total snaps on defense.
Pitt was 2-7 throwing against him for 30 yards and one interception. He had a passer rating against of 5.4.
He also had four tackles and one stop.

The player with the highest run blocking grade on the team after the first two?
Tobias Merriweather.
He's not pouting out there, in fact he's working his butt off.
@DragonflyJonez
Love KD getting that pass and just giving it right back like “this is about you right now, take us there”. That’s a top 15ish all time guy doing that.
It cannot be emphasized enough how much of a disgrace Peacock is. I’m forced to watch the ads on replay through a service I’m already paying a subscription for. This is after the feed went out multiple times during the game yesterday. Awful product.
Former Notre Dame and ASU QB Drew Pyne tells ESPN he’s enrolling back at Notre Dame in January for the spring semester to earn his degree in American Studies and minor in business economics. He will not play football at Notre Dame this spring and plans to graduate in May.
Notre Dame beating
#1
Clemson is discounted because they just beat some freshman, also Clemson is pre-season
#1
because of said freshman, good morning good day
None of these numbers are good, but being in the 5th percentile on late down success rate is a big indicator of the problems.
Notre Dame needed a play to move the chains/get into the end zone several times in this game, could not, and had to settle for field goals.
Unranked Notre Dame is 3.5 point dogs at home to
#4
Clemson so either Clemson is wildly overrated or Notre Dame is probably better than at least the two ranked teams they beat by a combined 29 points.
Heard this stat from
@jamieuyeyama
on Power Hour and had to look it up.
Notre Dame opponents are 5-40 (13%) for 163 yards (4.1 ypa) with zero touchdowns and 3 ints on passes thrown 20+ yards in the air.
This secondary is special.
