think I’ve had to explain to about 20 people since the GRR bill passed yesterday that predatory men won’t change their gender in order to violate safe spaces and assault women, as they are too busy doing all of that regardless

as eldest daughter I will once again be spending today preparing for tomorrow where I will be acting as sous chef, family lawyer, mediator, host, front of house, waitress, mixologist, taxi, entertainer, event manager, translator and general light of my extended family’s life

3 years ago today- my fave day as a Speak Out Champion ever. The most empowered I have ever felt. I’m so grateful that I’m now the lead volunteer for SO and can work on providing more enthusiastic young campaigners with inspiring opportunities like these ☺️

Politics aside, the time and effort that Nicola Sturgeon put into listening to the voices of young women, like my 16 year old self, is a quality that too few decision makers show. I’ll never forget how empowered and respected I felt after speaking with her in 2020

There’s a difference between general personal safety and then going out of your way to avoid being raped eg. keys between your hands, rape alarms, going the long way home, not running in the dark, not wearing revealing clothing, not wearing headphones

3 years ago today my childhood best friend took her life. Earlier this week, we learned that 805 people died by suicide in 2020. There’s not many times I’m lost for words, but all I can say today is be kind, hug your pals tight and please reach out if you’re struggling 💕

Today an anti choice protester (literally an old man??) forced a leaflet on me about how abortion is murder and for a second my anxiety disappeared so I ripped it up and threw it back in his face and I really hope it hurt his ego just a little bit

we all gave up studying JUST as the “not exams” were announced, we were all burnt out and then 3x the usual amount of assessments were loaded on us. I went from straight As to walking into exams without revising because my brain had no more capacity to work
