Some sounds that are permanently engrained in my memory: the Tiger Drop, Rikiya's "ANIKI", Haruka's "hayai yo" and Kiryu's "HANASE" from the Shimano fight. The list goes on and on, so feel free to add to it :D

One of my favourite things about the lead-up to a new game is looking back on older reveals with some added context. Seeing the differences in lighting, colour choices and audio mixing makes you appreciate every step of the project's evolution even more :)

One of the many quality of life changes that Infinite brought along: the addition of a "job-switching" shortcut near a dungeon.
I still remember just how many times I had to go back to Hello Work while preparing for the True Final Millennium Tower in 7. This is a godsend!

It's thanks to Yakuza 3 that games like 6, Gaiden and 8 have so much more weight to them.
It's thanks to its combat that I stopped blindly button-mashing, and started experimenting.
This game gets you out of your comfort zone in so many ways... and I love it.

What if Gaiden shows us this fight from Kiryu's perspective? I have no idea how they'd tackle it, but this was one of my favourite moments in the series, so I keep wondering... Or what if Ichiban was the final boss for Kiryu in LAD 8? Man... the summit can't come fast enough! 🤩

I realise how much a Dead Souls remaster has become a meme in the community, but jokes aside, there's something really special about this game. Maybe it's the PS3 atmosphere, the old localization names, or the fact it's so earnest in trying to do its own thing, but it's a beauty.

Anyone care to guess if this is Unreal Engine or still DE? The colour palette here reminds me of PS4 Judgment a lot (due to the blue-ish finish). Oddly enough, it even feels like it has a touch of the PS2-era palette from Yakuza 2... Whatever the case, I love what is see.

Gaiden... is a masterpiece. Too many emotions to name, too much praise to list. This game might actually surpass Y0 for me, a bar I found impossible to be surpassed for so many reasons.

While chances of it happening are slim, I'd love to see another fight against Watase in Gaiden. He was fantastic in Y5 and it's a shame how the fight we had with him didn't have much weight behind it.
Same with Katsuya. Amazing characters, dealt a rough hand.

Kiryu singing Judgement genuinely made me tear up. I knew it was coming, the song was even present in the demo... But between Kiryu being fully into it and seeing the rest of the party cheer him on, this left me feeling a lot more nostalgic than I could've imagined. Beautiful...

Without going into spoilers, Infinite REALLY nailed its boss fights. I'm well on record as originally not being a fan of turn-based combat, but Y7 was phenomenal and Infinite is on an even greater level. I might actually do a boss tier list once I'm done with the game, cause wow.

Finished the demo for Infinite Wealth.
Spent half an hour swimming around and trying to take over one of the rafts so I could wage war on the other raft and become King of Honolulu Beach.
You can't do that btw, but yes: the demo is just as fun as the trailers made it seem :D

I'm trying to finish Dead Souls but it keeps crashing on me. Loved everything I've played so far, though.
If there's any game in this series that would genuinely benefit from a Kiwami remake, it's not Y3. It's this one, and it's still absurdly fun, despite the technical issues!

Gaiden's version of Sotenbori might actually be my favourite in the series. It feels like what my "nostalgia glasses" would show Sotenbori in OG Y2 to be like. Reminds me of some classic 2000s "edge", for lack of a better word, and I adore it.
